-the 20-something yr. old guy in the first day of my wife's MSF class (today) who waited until the actual 'range' or 'bike time' to reveal to the instructor that he had never learned how to ride a bicycle as a kid...Doh!!

They tried, couldn't help him..he walked away $180.00 lighter...

I'm sure Rad, TWN and others may concur, but is this latest generation just about the most mechanically inept yet ? My son, 20, can change a tire, alternator, drives a standard and replaces the rings on his CR250 Elsinore and while on a visit to Lubbock last weekend a couple of his college buds remarked they always call him when the car doesnt start. I glowed with pride but he told me our generation is the last to really excel at do it yerself maintanence. I can understand this a little as the cars and bikes, especially 4 stroke dirt machines, are becoming so friggin complicated. But these latest video/computer/cellphone moronics are a sad bunch...no desire to know how anything woiks. Better learn Spanish/Chinese !!

I think it is all due to the "protected environment" parents around these days.

Blame the previous generation for what is going on now.

All the bad habits and traits start at home.

Scary thing is when we are collecting social security (if that still exists) they will be dorcases running this country, or what is left of it.

True story:

A few years back we stopped to offer assistance to a tennage guy who had his Samurai overheat on him. He asked to borrow our cell phone, and called his dad. His reply to dad's first question was "Which knob does the water go on?". Sad.
