A funny tralier a guy had at the castle

After we had a nice snack with the gang we head on out, a car in front of us was weaving & zipping down the raod from the castle & foolishly I was payin too much attention to it. Came around a corner a little to fast & was close to the jagged edge of pavement.

I see I'm come'n up on a rut of gravel & sand jutting out & think'n don't go there! Well I quess it was a case of target fixation as there I went & WAM we go down faster then a blink of an eye!

OH NO! We went down on duke's side & I'm think he's seriously hurt or dead! Jump off the bike check duke and he's just staring at me like why did you do that?

i try to get the bike up but can't Lucky some cars stopped and help me right the bike. Duke's Ok and the sheild has snapped off . some scaches on the faring and sprained my ankle & wrist. (but not too bad thankfully)

One of the good folk who helped took my shield in his truck & followed me to furnace creek

A Bmw rider there wanted to take a pic of duke . i told him we just crashed & he went into the store & bought some bungge cords fer us, i asked how much I owed him he said there on him that's what bikers do fer each other!

We bungee the shield on the bike & head up the hill back to the hotel, 60mph headwind the last 14 miles without shield had me layin on the tank.

The wind swept back of the hotel

I think there may be a curse at Scotty's castle as I hear Sacramento Mike (who I was talkimg with right before I left) had a flat tire after he left, & a HD rider the next morning said he went down on the same road too!

We rode home the next day (without shield) and I count my lucky stars as Duke was not hurt, my injuries aren't bad & not much damage to the bike.

A few days of rest is in order now!

Bummer you went down, glad you and Duke are OK, whew, dumb cagers.

I understand your target fixation. :dribble:

Thanks for sharing, looked real nice ou there.

Glad you and Duke are OK Mark. Duke has become an Icon in the motorcycle world. Its funny how people will go out of their way to see Duke and maybe take a few pictures. Your incident must have scared you a bit.

Everyone is relieved to hear the news that Mark and Duke are OK and anxious to once again head on down the highway.

I'll reiterate, I'm glad everyone is ok.

Did you have to change your underwear afterward? ;)

Mark - good to hear all is well after your tumble.

Please give Duke a kiss on the nose for me?

Perhaps he'll reciprocate for you :bleh:

Glad your canine bud is okay...and that you are mending.

Regarding the WingDinger...wonder how much extra $$ he is paying to tow that toy around??

Marcus, glad you 2 are okay. I could not bare to hear anything but a full recovery. See you on down the rode hombre.

Mark from San Diego

Dayum...Sorry to hear about the crash, but glad you and your riding partner seemed to come out of it ok. Maybe now's the time to buy a lottery ticket.

Happy to hear you made if home safely. Duke certainly is a trooper!

I hope your ankle and wrist feel much better very quickly.
