I don't think so really. Bug season over, not driving the critters onto the roads, leaves turning colour, weather still warm enough........ early September would be good. All good to know. I will be taking 4-5 days to do it. 400mi days give or take. I was thinking of going second weekend in September. But that may be to late.
Where in IA are you? I'm in Cedar Rapids.I'm thinking about taking this route sometime this summer. Anyone have any thoughts? Map looks great. Just wondering if anyone has ridden it before? I will be leaving from Iowa.
The ONLY time that I have been pulled over was on the Lake Superior SS1000. The ONLY time that I have pulled over for bad weather was on the Lake Michigan SS1000 the day before Superior. If I were you, when that urge to "tear it up once and awhile" arises, make sure you keep it in check when North of the border. The provencial LEOs would be more than happy to hand you a performance award, you being an out-of-towner and all. IIRC, 50km over posted is a felony up there. One of them tickets will ruin any flower sniffin trip. Also bear in mind that the speed limits drop quickly as you come into towns, at least that's how they appeared to me.
