Geezer posted: The rebates are great, but if they need to rebate these tires in order to sell them and up the rebate at this point, then it makes me wonder why they are clearing out inventory.
JamesW posted: Or trying to penetrate market. Michelins are hard competition.
Gotta agree. PR4s are really nice, but I am loathe to spend gas money on expensive tires when cheaper -- and comparable -- tires are available.

Perhaps Dunlop and Avon are using "bigjohnsd logic". (Or, Dunlop could be gearing up to introduce Roadsmart 4 tires.)

2500 miles so far and I'm liking them. See how the look in another 5000 before I pass judgement. A little more tire hum than some while going straight. Smoother than Bridgestone T30s. To the point I was wondering if pressure was low. No drama in the rain or a very cold 37 deg F morning coming out of Wawa Ontario a few days ago!
"Smoother than Bridgestone T30s. To the point I was wondering if pressure was low."

That's what I like, good bump compliance. I did not like PR2's because they rode hard, switched to BT023 GT's and liked the softer compliance, put on T30 GT's after them and noticed they lost some of the compliance of the 023's. Sounds like I've found my new tire and since I only have about 1K left in the rear that rebate sounds good to me! Now if only I can stop riding my DR650, I could burn that 1K up in a few weeks!

Just ordered another set...couldn't pass up the $100 rebate
Gawd, Joe. You finally pushed me over the edge. I wasn't gonna do it, but I have a set of T30 take-offs with just over 4k on them, and a set of T30s on the FJR with about 5k on them. For $200 bucks, it'll be nice to have a fresh set for my next trip. Lol...It was actually $313, before the rebate, but I bought the 190/55s. Still $213 is a great price.

Almost 5000 miles on them in less than two weeks and still liking them a lot. Mostly riding the slab with a few curvy roads, a little wet and a couple of very cold mornings with no adverse drama. Visible wear, of course, but seem to have a long way to go. Wear is uniform - rear is flat-spotting a bit as a natural consequence of the slab-riding. No significant trapezoidal wear of the front which is so typical of the Michelins. I will be happy if I can get anything north of 10,000 miles on them. If I don't run into problems, they will be the next ones I buy (I have a set of T-30's to use up first). As I mentioned above, the RSIII seem to provide a very smooth and confidence-inspiring ride compared to most other tires.

I ran quite a few sets of Michelin PR2 and one set of PR3. (Never tried the 4's) Never felt that the Michelin tires were worth the "premium" pricing - not bad to start but always seemed to go downhill fast in terms of performance and noise. Sometimes could hardly wait for them to wear out so I could replace them. Same with the Pirelli Angel GT's (nice initially but impression didn't last). My less-than-stellar experience with the RS II (6 or 7 years ago) made me reluctant to try Dunlop's new offering but this thread was positive and the rebate pushed me over the edge.

Front RS3 by mid month to replace oem. Hoping it won't be too mismatched against PR4 that I already had in stock for the rear. EOM will be a good review stop.

Joe - did you get any hard miles in the twisties on these? Wondering how they stack up traction wise; mileage is good, but worthless to me if they won't hold a line and allow you to keep the bike pointed where you want it at "brisk" pace...

Bob and I did run across Arkansas 16 from Searcy, on our way out to YFO...the tires performed very well.

Just ordered another set, this time with the $100 rebate. Only put 4,000 miles on it from North Carolina to California so far but I still need to get back to North Carolina in a week or so.

Well, after the installer replaced a failed valve (which I had ridden on for three days), the RS-3s are running mighty fine.

I was thinking, "Why aren't these tires breaking in? They're so squishy and sloppy .." Checked the air pressure and found 8 psi in the rear. (Yes, eight psi.) All's well now, and the RoadSmart3 tires have handled well on the freeway and on the curvy, shade-tree streets through our lovely suburbs.

Learned something new: You want to get skinny or non-existent chicken strips? Lower your tire pressure to 10 psi.

$298.11 through Jake Wilson -$100 rebate. Fast delivery too. Just placed my order. Thanks for posting this, I would have missed it.

I bought a set from Jake Wilson also. Ordered them on Friday and they arrived today. Today, I receive an email from Jake Wilson with a link to the online rebate form. All I had to do was fill it out and they will mail it in.

Now if they would only put the tires on for me.
