Hi!I wonder has anyone tried this M 409-501 map for EUROPEAN Fjr 1300?How does it seemed to work? I have now Wallys map+accelerator pump and I am very pleased with it.I just wonder has anyone compared this Dynojet and Wallys map? When I looked that Dynojet map, I noticed that Dynojet map does increase fuelling at low and mid rev ranges, just there where FJR surges.

And I noticed also different fuelling between USA and European model at Dynojet maps.I did compare USA stock model -map and European stock model -map.Why is that?

I've tried the Euro maps and didn't like them. Too rich in the wrong places which is wasted fuel and poor performance. For my riding style Wally's map is hard to beat, even with slip-ons. This is just my experience. Other people will tell you different. Different strokes for different folks!

After researching and checking around, I was told that the Euro bikes have a different ECU than the US bikes. Another thing is the fuel type in Europe is different, because of their refining process. So when you look and compare maps you'll see the vast changes in the numbers. The Euro maps were not meant to run on US bikes. You're dealing with two different bike setups, that were setup to comply with different emission regulations, to get into that country to begin with. This is where the surging problem begins. Surging is really the only reason for installing a PC on the FJR. The bike is so well designed that with adding slip-ons and changing maps, you're only going to pick-up a horse or two, at the expense of fuel economy. If Wally's map is working for you, then I'd say stick with it. Just my experience!

I assume you have the US model, right? When ypu lookat Dynojet maps for USA and Europe original bikes there are huge difference about fuelling values at maps.I assume Euro FJR´s has set leaner than US versions from the factory. If anyone has info about this please share it with me.

Correct.....US model, I miss read your post. The US bikes are very lean, but leaner than Euro or the other way around, I don't know. I had a Euro map at the time, since I had Remus slip-ons. When Wally installed his map, both he and DynoJet said not to run the Euro maps. The biggest issue has to do with the fuel quality between the 2 countries. I thought you were in the US, my mistake. You should be fine with the 501.

OK.Thanks for your reply.I decided to stay with Wallys map, though I put more fuel to low and mid RPM´s. Just 3 bars on the low and 2 bars on the Mid.High is +-0.What an improvement!! Now it pulls like a bull every gear, no surge at all.I am VERY happy now...

Tiikeri,

Would you mind sharing that modified map with a Euro-brother?

I've got a 2003 (European) and already run on Wally's map (unmodified).

If that's all right with you, I'll give you my e-mail address.

Thanks

Stef

Well, if you have the Wallys map on it, all you have to do is boost that low and mid areas with the buttons of your PC III.Don´t need to do anything more.

But now I installed and tried that Dynojets M 409-501 map and took the test ride just to see if it works. It is as good as Wallys map with those boosts. That M 409-501 map did solve the surge of my FJR completely and don´t need to boost any areas.I am gonna stick with it. My FJR pulls now like a bull, no surges at all.Very different bike than the unmodified bike.If you have the unmodified EURO Fjr and it surges, then install the PC III and that M 409-501 map.It did give me whole new world.

I have also the accelerator pump installed and works great for me!

I loved my FJR before this and now I am so in love that I could marry her :) !
