If you haven't seen the 2-part documentary on the Eagles rock band, grab a 6-pack of your favorite brew on the way home and check it out.

You can thank me later.

It's been out for a couple of years and yes, it's fun. Hopefully you managed to catch them during their multi-year tour within the past two years, That was truly excellent. I even managed to catch Joe Walsh touring this past year.He too was excellent.

Boomers, it's time (past time) to see the favorite bands of your youth while you still can. Greg Allman (of the allman brothers) is touring. Sting and Peter Gabriel are touring together this year. Last year it was Sting and Paul Simon. Get out there folks, they're dropping fast. Can you believe Keith Richards is still alive??? Do it!

Don't forget to read Don Felder's book Heaven and Hell on the same topic.

Don Henley and Glenn Frey were quite high on themselves and Don's book seems a counter-point to some of the larger than life headspace those 2 were really in during most of the pre-80's period.

I saw the Eagles on their last tour. I also saw RUSH before NP retired. It was a good concert year.

If you can find it, buy the DVD of the documentary. It has a bonus DVD of their Hotel California 1977 tour performance in Washington DC. The video and the songs in 5.1 surround sound are a must have for Eagles fans. Their performance of the song Hotel California is worth the price of the whole package.

Saw them many times, the 1st time in 1970 they were not super famous yet & were play'n the local junior college for 4 bucks, we showed up early & were talkin to the roadies (about all the great weed they were smoking) Then the guy that played banjo Bernie (quit or was fired not long after that)
showed up & when he saw the venue wasn't even set up yet he said got pissed & said screw this & they canceled.
Then saw them in 72 at the LA forum with Yes & Poco. Saw them around 74 in Santa Barbara, then I saw the Hotel California tour in 77 with Joe Walsh in the LA forum. And I think I saw them at one of the Cal-jam shows (that one is pretty fuzzy

I saw them during the Hotel California tour and will never forget the show. I believe Joe Walsh will keep touring with his band but the Eagles will never be the Eagles without Glenn.
