Well I have started a 9 day trip (maybe less). I live in Northern Maine on the Canadian border. I hope to post pics as I go. Im doing it solo with no real itinerary. Wish me luck!

Copy and past the shortcut from photobucket into your post, then highlight it and click the Icon two blocks to the right of the emoticons icon- the one that says "Insert Image" when you hover your cursor over it. That should do it.

Good luck and have fun, Chris! Stay safe. Where you heading in general? I know you said no itinerary, but if you post up in advance, you may get some tag along riders perhaps, or just as good, local intel on good places to eat/stay/see! I love this forum ;)

Well I'm going the back way down rt 2 into NH and VT. I want to spend a good day or 2 in PA around the Gettysburg area...then I'd like to make it as far as the skyline drive....I would welcome company and suggestions where to stay CHEAP! I think I've mastered the pic thing. I was about ready to jump off a bridge.

So, which general direction did you point your front wheel when you started out?

Hi Guys, I meant to keep everyone posted but stopped off at my sisters in Lee Mass and she doesnt have wireless so I wasnt able to get on. So far the ride is absolutely awesome. Honestly one couldnt ask for better weather. This ride is perfect because I have no plans. I just ride where I want to. I will say though that years ago my riding consisted of a lot of highway driving and I have GROSSLY underestimated how long it will take for me to get from point A to point B. I was in the saddle for nearly 11 hours (few breaks) from Augusta Maine, (where I had worked all week) to Lee Mass in the western part of the state. I was beat but I traveled some of the most scenic area. I left Mass this morning and arrived in Hamburg PA around 3:30. Being an avid hunter, I had set my goal to reaching Cabelas in PA. Spent all kinds of time there and thankfully not a lot of money. Tomorrow will bring me to Gettysburg, which will satisfy my curiosity of the civil war battle. I suspect, being memorial day weekend that there should be lots going on. Oh by the way, traveling in PA on Memorial Day weekend is interesting but not quick. I swear, damn near every town had some kind of event going on. At one point I had been on the road for an hour and a half and only traveled 43 miles. I do have some pics and I will post them later tonight when I get them off my camera or maybe tomorrow morning. I'll also have more to add about some of the crazy $#%@% I saw.

This is an old Dam in Rumford Maine. Rumford at one point in time was the logging capitol.
