As one who lives in high fire danger I feel for Montana peeps.

Even a DC10 seems woefully inadequate.. so little retardant, like pissing in a volcano.

​If only we could collect all the retarded shit people do everyday and make fire retardant...

Jeeze, I hate the tragedy of these fires every summer and fall out west. Prayers and mojo to all those affected and for the loss of viewshed and habitat.

Like dc, I live in a high fire danger area, with the CalFire air attack (and retardant loading) base a mlle away. My overhead air traffic picks up when anything in the area catches fire. Watching those pilots fly is a thing to behold, enough so that I'm reasonably confidant that there is very little "retarded shit" in the retardant they are hauling.

Fire plus drought. Even without the fires ranchers were struggling to feed their stock. Many will have to market their herds because they will have nothing to feed them this winter. The fires are also in our part of west central Montana. My SIL's family has a 55,000 acre ranch in the Ronan area and they are cutting fences to give their cattle escape routes. Ranching and farming..... there's always something.
