Highways 3 and 36 are both closed right now due to fires. Inciweb is the place to check for updates. If you can get to it, and like remote, Forest Service 1 from Mad River to Hwy 299 is a fun road. Both times I've ridden it I haven't seen another human along the entire length. I'll be with a group of riders riding that area and up to Crater Lake and the Oregon Coast that weekend, starting from Red Bluff. Hopefully the roads will be open by then. Forks of Salmon is nice and goaty but turns epic when you get to Cecilville.
As for meals, personally I try to eat light. Most hotel/motel "breakfasts" are carbs only unfortunately. I would rather patronize a local (non-corporate/chain) establishment. If they have home-made apple or peach pie, then that's my bonus. I don't do fast-food. If I'm hungry while riding I always have Kind bars and some fruit, and a Hydroflask with water that I can dump Starbucks instant juices into. With a microwave available, I'd be apt to pick up some breakfast burritos at a grocery store along with, say, some pre-cut melon packages you can get for breakfast and include the usual in-room coffee. Snacks, as I mentioned, for on the road during the day, then find a local place to support for dinner. But, hey that's just me.
