ECU Replacement Turnaround Time By Dealer?

Had my ECU replaced under warranty this week. All that was required was a phone call to have the part ordered. I'm looking at my service invoice which shows part number 90891-30054-00 described as FJR1300 ECU Kit (u49). As indicated on the invoice total cost for the part and labor was $545.05.

Off topic but Deming Cycle (Deming NM) has a new 2008 FJR on the floor for stated price of $11,800 + TTL.

 
My dealer shop-owner sent his main wrench to my garage to assist me in the ECU replacement. We cracked a six-pack and had at it. I work at this relationship.

 
OK, let's cut to the quick. Does the ECU help throttle surge at all elevations????
It cures the surging when changing altitude. I forget the particulars do a search on 'altitude sickness' for those. If you are not changing altitude, everything will be the same. G2 and possibley PCIII time. Do the G2 first and see.
