Thanks for the input. I decided to try the avon storm xm after researching and reading reviews. I got a set at jake wilson for $275.

For any one interested I found pr4 sets at discountmototire for $300 shipped.

I buy almost all my rubber from Jakewilson. I like PR2's. Usually run PR3's. Have a set of PR4GT's arriving tomorrow. Run at 40/42, all are likely to go 7k of mixed riding. Though I've worn out some earlier than that due to thrashfests.

I got a used General G-Max with at least 10k left in it. Yours for the shipping. That'll eliminate half your worries.

I had previously liked the Conti Motion, but on my second set the front tire shook horribly. Not a balance issue because I'm not a newbie to mounting tires and I double checked for proper seating and balance. The PR4 I put on rides like every other tire I've ever mounted (except for the Metzler I once mounted many many years ago with insufficient lube that didn't seat completely and shook horribly).

I won't be buying them again, even though the lure of low cost and decent handling still calls. A T30 is waiting for mount on the front this weekend.

I had tread separation on a Conti Motion front tire at highway speed. 5500 miles on the tire.

These tires ended up being not so cheap after needing a tow truck and having my trip cut short.
