During rut, (which is only in the fall), the cow elk, and yearling calves, are grouped into harems by the bulls. Variety is the spice of life, even for elk!

Most of the year, the bulls are solitary, or live in small bachelor groups. No ***, unless there are gay elk(?)

AJ, the bulls don't shower, but they do cover themselves with urine-soaked mud to attract the cows. Try it sometime, and tell us how it works out!
