Banquets are my department and I'm going to be spinning up in the next week or two on this. Now that we're going national--it changes a few things on my plate (pun intended) and the way we'll work it with the hotel.

Rest assured that quality of food is a very important point. I've been getting some good banquet tips from Lisa Landry and sister who's a head chef at a club...and developed my 250 pound physique because I LUV food. :dribble:

And don't let MadMike2 fool you all any.... he has a *critical* Staff role in Reno: he is in charge of Security for WFO-5! So you better be nice to him, since he and his crew will be manning the Pavilion exterior bay doors that let folks in/out of air-conditioned parking!!
COOL... carring weapons and riding and shooting.. don't get any better than that!! Where's my deputy badge MM2? :D

Mega Kudos to Dan for dragging Yammie aboard ! B)

GREAT NEWS! I can't wait for a shot at riding a new AE. In my mind, I won't like it, but my curiousity has me jonesen for a try at clutchless, push-button shifting. This event just keeps getting better and better!

+1 to the security detail. Glad to know it's one of our own in charge of keeping our babies safe and sound.

Humm....4 bikes (really 2 as I would only be interested in riding the AE model) divided by 250 FJR riders equals no ride for me :-( ....still you have to give Yamaha credit for signing on with 4 bikes.
Aren't there going to be more than just 4 '06's? Mine sure as hell better be under my *** when I'm at WFO.

Vulcan, if the line is too long, you can take my AE for a short spin.

So Dale, should you change the name of the event from WFO to NFO?

Dale's slammed. I can testify on the day job side of things for sure.

It's absolutely on his plate and like #4 on 852 things to do. ;)

We know it here.....which is the central forum for participants. Graphics and details on the WFO site will follow.

Ignacio...looking forward to meeting you & a few others face to face @ the event...thanks in advance to you & everyone else involved for making this happen.....it's nice to know that some people don't mind having the logistics make them crazy for an event this size  ....thanks again....Mike

Guess that means some of the wording on the T-shirt design's got to change...

So, when we learn which Yamaha uppity ups will be there will that info be posted on the WFO website? How about the fact that they are sponosring...yep...I know...on the LONG list of to do's?

Yes. The VOLUNTEER that has a day job to keep his children wants to update the website badly I'm sure.

Ignacio; day job :dribble: ...you have a day job  ...you must be so ashamed....I truly feel for you.....but look at the bright side....food in the mouths of your spouse ,& children...& any leftover money to buy farkles...

Oh...when I read my question I see that it might have been associated with a nasty tone. I certainly didn't mean it that way. I know you guys are volunteering and I wasn't being snide. In fact, thanks for everything you do!

Actually, I'm single and childless....and probably able to divert more of my financial resources than some. Extra time I have is used as a politician to keep the newspaper in business.

I was referring to Warchild. It's stuff he has to do.....and we all know how much he gives to the community. Doing it while working at a day job plus having a gaggle o' kids is even more impressive.

No problem. I do know personally that he wants to work on that website badly. Just other stuff is coming up faster than he can check it off. Hopefully, he got some sleep on the plane Sunday. I think he's in training all week this week. Between work load, WFO good news, George's R1, the races this weekend--he's needed some REM sleep.

To illustrate Ignacio's words..... tonight (643pm EST, Mar 13, 2006) is the first time I've logged into the 'net since last Thursday (Mar 9). I am so far backlogged in email and various web forums, it's beyond insane. :(

I'm in a heavy-duty training environment until Thursday... and won't be able to hit the 'net again before that time, I'm sure.... :(

Not to worry, folks, the Reno event WILL BE change to reflect the proper venue, but not until I return from my business trip.

+ 1 for demo R-1's, FZ6's, etc.

Does Yamaha know a good portion of our membership have sport bikes in addition to FJR's and that many of us are considering it?

Great job guys. This is gonna be fun.

I think we all owe you a drink. If you aren't comatose, it'll be a testament to your will power. ;)

You can bet they do. They know owners and addresses of new Yamaha purchases for sure and probably see a statistical correlation.

I have images of Dan Denchell being Face from the A Team. Warchild is, of course, Hannibal chomping on a cigar saying, "I love it when a plan comes together."

....I want to be Murdoch and want to drug whoever is Mr. T and take him on a Harley ride against his will. :D
