HELP!!!

I am in QUICK NEED of anyone who may have (or can quickly make) a hi-res vector artwork of the FJR logo.

We have a sponsor that just today stepped up and is willing to manufacture for us a quite large (4' x 6') vinyl banner for the Western FJR Owners gathering, and they are asking for the FJR logo or some FJR-oriented artwork that will "scale up" and still look awesome.

Failing that, I suppose if anyone can find/create any FJR image or symbolism that has the same properties (hi-res, vector artwork), that would work, too.

I realize the filesize might be quite large, but we can work around that.... I just need the artwork, is all.

When this banner is complete, we will hang it in the Nevada Room, and at the conclusion of the Banquet on Saturday night, we'll pass it to the organizers of WFO-6 (assuming they are identified by then).

Drop me a PM if you can can hook us up with the killer artwork! :) The problem here is that we need this RIGHT NOW, or we will be out of time....

No luvin' from Yamaha? I would think that marketing would have a boatload of artwork from which to choose. In 9 hours you could have an answer, if that's not too late. Also, the maufacturers that I deal with have 'dealers' areas on their websites with this type of artwork, downloadable for just this purpose... Can Sunnyside hook you up?

Most of the Yamaha artwork I have (even from dealerships, etc) is more for web use.... few are more than 72dpi (typical web resolution), though I have some R1 vector artwork that is 300dpi. Obviously, the R1 stuff isn't going to work.

I'm hoping to score some 600-dpi artwork, like you'd use for silk-screening shirts, etc.

Don't know anything about this. Would this be actual print you need, or a file to be able to download? My wife works for a printing supply outfit, she has brought home some beautiful blow-ups of many pics etc, with no loss in sharpness etc. Would that be what you need? If so, I can get to work on it asap. They have a ton of machines they use for architectural work etc.

I'm with TWN... I know the company I work for has high rez corporate artwork that can be used for printing up banners etc. My guess is Cypress or whoever is the contact for the Yammy sponsorship of WFO might be a good place to start...

This would no doubt be the best avenue to pursue, but I fear that we're about out of time to do this if we can't connect today.

The main problem is that all my Cypress contacts I've been using to facilitate WFO arrangements are now in Monterey setting up for the MotoGP races.

What have you got and what do you need?

Do you have JPEG, bitmat, etc?

Do you want CGM, DWG, DXF, IGES, ??

Have you searching for a translator?

I am no artist and have no idea how good the raster to vector conversion software out there works but I found these shareware/freeware examples that may help :dntknw:

Raster to Vector Conversion Software

If I had time I would try them out - maybe someone else has had some experience?

Seems like there might be closer, faster solutions than those I might be able to offer, which would be slow and far.

Warchild, I've got the logo in vector format. Let me know what format they need (currently in freehand 10), who and how, and I'll get it to them.

I'm emailing you a freehand, illustrator, and EPS file of the logo.

Typically raster to vector conversion software isn't all it's cracked up to be. They work, and get the raster image into a vector format, but it's rarely a high enough quality to really do anything with.

If it's vector linework, there is no resolution to it. Not unless you rasterize it anyways. Glad Slap could help you out cause I didn't see this til now. Been doin 12 hour days this week with more to come tomorrow.

Its probably too late but I have the FJR logo in cad format. I can convert it to parasolid(X_T), IGES, DWG, CKD, MX etc formats. Its just the letters "FJR" in the same style as the side of the bike.

Where's the banner from last year?
Ya mean this one ??? Who know.. maybe it's in Sharps garage, must be a hell of a big garage though !

And how come we haven't heard from Sharp ? He used to contribute a ton on the Euro board ?

I think he felt a bit trodden upon after WFO-4 due to the lack of banquet participation and high degree of whining about the meal cost. I see a repeat of that coming this year.
