Rode from Clemson, SC to the PGA Championship in Louisville. Came back to the parking area. Flat rear tire (nail). Tires are due anyway. Used my plug kit and Slime compressor to repair. Is the Yamaha dealer in Louisville good to use? Would rather replace them and ride home on new. Was going to take 276 through the mountains. Any feedback on Louisville Yammy dealer?

You might try Derby Cycles in Shelbyville, KY (less than 15 miles from the PGA tourney) about halfway between Louisville and Frankfort.

Looks like they also have a store in Louisville too, Derby Cycles #4 (phone 502-267-7770).

I've bought tires and other products from them over the internet. They have good prices and a large inventory.

Don't know if they'll install the tires for you. If not, I'm sure they can recommend someone nearby.

Motorcycle Superstore has a Outlet there in Louisville:

Motorcycle Superstore's Louisville Outlet
501 Industry Rd, Ste 100
Louisville, Kentucky 40208

Phone: (502) 442-7217

There is also a Cycle Gear at:

215 S Hurstbourne Parkway, Suite 101
Louisville,KY 40222

Phone: (502) 426-9746

Have no idea how helpful they can be, but you might find a better deal on the tire(s) there than one of the (d)stealers. Good luck and hope you enjoy the tournament.

Thanks to all for the replies. I showed up at Yamaha of Louisville at about 9:30am and Inga, the service manager listened to my predicament and immediately offered to help. She took me into their tire inventory room and we could not find an acceptable pair of tires for the FJR. She made some calls and found a pair of Pirelli Angel GTs. She drove her car to get the tires and while she was gone the technician put my bike on the lift and began disassembly. When Inga returned with the tires, she also brought me a breakfast biscuit while I waited. I was out the door by 12:30pm. The Pirelli Angels were very nice on the 440 mile return trip.

So, a big thanks to Inga, and Yamaha of Louisville for going beyond the call of duty, getting me back on the road quickly, and with the tires I was happy with. It cost me about $50 more for the tires, but I was more than happy to pay the small premium when dealing with such great people. Stupid move on my part, was not getting a picture of Inga to post here. She is pretty hot red head, and a good business woman!
