FJR 900 at idle ok so farPrius is really at 0 at idle and it to is ok so far.
Yeah, Mark, so was Phil's. If you have a problem, you'll know to raise the idle to the recommended RPMs per the Service Manual--1100.

For whatever reason, ambient temps, humdity, misread of a sensor or God-only-knows...every once in awhile an ECU is sensitive and will have a momentary lapse (a hiccup, a glitch, an electronic "brain-fart") and allow an engine set at too low of an idle speed to stall. Hence, our advice that has served FJR owners well for the last 5 years.

...and sell the Prius.

My bike was acting in a similar manner about a year ago. I found that the battery connections had loosened up. I snugged them up and have not had a problem since.

So if raising the idol speed doesn't do the trick check your battery connections.

Per Bluestreek

And your ignition switch, or was that a different model year ?

Well....I think dcarver was the first with his '06 on a Death Valley ride...the now infamous "pulled wires" because the loom is to tight.

BUT, FJRay had problems with his switch on his '03.

So...Ross...are you trying to be some kind of rabble rousing trouble maker????

And here I was trying to be polite. It's like that old Weather Channel commercial, "Who looks ridiculous now?!"

I know that I looked pretty ridiculous when I fell over pulling out of the driveway 'cause the damn thing stalled out cause I was remiss in upping the idle speed....

There is a problem with another yamaha product that has the same problem. This bikes don't have the most state of the art injection systems so it might be worth reading ,the problem sounds the same. I have a friend that has had this happen twice on a ,,,, Not the road star, the fannier version. Check out( fxstien ) this might help to under stand the problem..
