My name is Smitty.. And I have a motorcycle proble
I have a very small oil leak at the drive shaft (motor side). Well I have a YES warr. But there is not a shop close I would trust to do the job. I have a friend who ownes a Yami dealership, but he is 250 smiles away. I thought I would just do it myself.
Pull the rear wheel, drive shaft, left side footpeg/shifter assy. front u-joint, and misc. crap out of the way. Well, there are 3 bolts holding a sheetmetal cover over the seal. One bolt is easy to get out. The other 2 will not come all the way out.. They both hit the frame. I called the dealership just to see if I was missing something. Asked how much time in the flat rate manual to replace the seal.....Only 13 hours, motor must be dropped down/out. Any one out there know a better way?? Beside the dealer....
