I have a very small oil leak at the drive shaft (motor side). Well I have a YES warr. But there is not a shop close I would trust to do the job. I have a friend who ownes a Yami dealership, but he is 250 smiles away. I thought I would just do it myself.

Pull the rear wheel, drive shaft, left side footpeg/shifter assy. front u-joint, and misc. crap out of the way. Well, there are 3 bolts holding a sheetmetal cover over the seal. One bolt is easy to get out. The other 2 will not come all the way out.. They both hit the frame. I called the dealership just to see if I was missing something. Asked how much time in the flat rate manual to replace the seal.....Only 13 hours, motor must be dropped down/out. Any one out there know a better way?? Beside the dealer....

I went through this last summer & the bike was in the shop 5 weeks by the time it was done, largely due to waiting on the seal! Yes, they have to drop the engine. Mine was covered under YES.

I ordered a seal, it took over three week to come in...I thought they just forgot to order...

My 03 had to be done twice before it quit leaking and was covered by warantee both times.
