I am new to the FJR, the other day I noticed that above 4k rpm in any gear, I notice more engine vibration. my previous bike was an FZ6R so i cant really compare. it only has ~400 miles on it. is this normal? i know for certain it is not the wheels/tires, when the clutch is engaged at the same speed, vibration goes away. any input would be appreciated. 2013 FJR1300a

Do like Gmann suggested as it's new and possibly the dealer fkd up.. Otherwise?

Normal.. Some get used to it while others don't

Those look just like the Grip Puppies I referenced above. Wonder if they are the same thing in different packaging? It does look like the Puppies are a cheaper option because they are only $9.80 with free shipping.

I remember when Grab On grips were super popular replacement grips 30 years ago. I didn't like them because they were too small in diameter, so went with Johar grips instead. Obviously these slip on covers would be a larger diameter than the stock FJR grips.

As noted above: put a few more miles on the bike, and vibes will likely decrease.

On the Gen Is and IIs, an unauthorized TBS often reduces the buzz

If you do check the engine bolt torque, be sure to follow correct procedure -- which will likely require removal of the lower fairing panels in order to access the pinch bolts. The shop installed frame sliders on my '11 when new, and failed to follow the correct procedure. Later, I re-torqued according to the FSM, and immediately noticed the improvement in less buzz

There will always be a certain amount of buzz coming from the FJR. It's the nature of the beast!

Yep. Did you ever ride a 325cc thumper before? How much vibration did you get from that at 4000 rpm?

Well, consider that you've now got four of those puppies down between your knees! Wick it up and enjoy the rush!

The grab-on-grip need to be about 1/2 inch longer also. 4.75"

I always notice the worst vibration right at 4000 rpm. Sweet spot where all the torque is seems to be in the range of 5 to 8 k. That's where the Two Brothers sound the best!

I used the Johar grips on my '07 and really liked them. I bought a second set which is still in the orig. packaging. Now I have the 14ES and no need for the Johar grips. If anyone is interested I will send them to you for the cost of shipping.

Recently returned from a 8000 km trip, before that did the TUTBS. Did not change much, the engine vibes were well noticeable on 4000 + rpm. Good thing is that most of my riding was at 3500 rpm, or 5000 in twisties, and there it was really good.

I also had a chance to try couple of other bikes during that trip, one 30 y old 250 cm3 Honda and brand new V-strom 650, and compared to those, the FJR is smooth as butter. Have not tried any other 4 cylinder, but I have a feeling that I am overly demanding to my bike smoothness.
