EOM 2015 - Location Discussion

Unfortunately October is pretty much right out for the Canadian contingent. The likelihood of hitting near freezing temps is to great. Another issue is distance. Georgia is 2 LONG days away. I absolutely understand the desirability of the area, but it'd be out of the question, especially in October for me.
Come to think of it, were their any Canadians at EOM this year?

I like the idea of Lewisburg; good stuff up there.

An area with an extensive tourist support system = traffic in my mind. Had more than our fair share of that last weekend.

For the comment about Canadians at this past EOM, I saw a Canadian sticker on someone's bike at EOM, does that count?

I just want ya'll to pick September 11th weekend .I've had to work every date thats been picked sence I've owned my FJR.My brother has been the past two years and has had a great time. Keeping my fingers crossed. BTW,Wytheville is a great spot.

Navarre, EOM traditionally happens the 3rd weekend in September. I do believe the only reason that it moved this year was because it would've coincided with NAFO in Lacrosse. There are a lot of folks that attended both... just connecting the weekends to ride.

So, if you can take the 3rd weekend of September off, it'd be a fairly sure bet that will be the weekend of EOM.

Though I loved Maggie Valley, I would still vote for Lewisburg if I were given the option.

Did you check room rates? $134 up to $229 per night. Although a beautiful location, it would push rally fee's and lodging cost to the far end of the scale, and potentially, out of reach for many...

Elkins is a good choice.

Lots of reasonably priced rooms.

Well I voted for Lewisburg. Why wasn't Elkins, WV included? Not a big deal. Lewisburg, Wytheville, Elkins all close by.

The NorthGA mountains have a strong tourist support system, much more than LewisburgWV.

Huh!? WV does not provide a "strong tourist support system"...

baffles me...Number one industry across the entire state. I must be missing something in the definition or maybe I'm just plain biased

This dufus who has preference for multiple locations and would be happy with either one.

It may have been a gaff to have done so, but I think it actually makes more sense, as long as everyone is aware of it. That way you really get the place that is preferred by the most folks.

Same. I posted for Lewisburg or Wythesville cause either one works just fine. I just told Wayne if Lewisburg is picked I want to ride from Lewisburg WV to Lewisburg PA just because
