Yeah, it's a concrete corn cob. So?
Jeez, Mike! That sucks!
Hi Mike. sorry to hear of the multiple problems. I'm trying to figure out why you were hauling the bike back from EOM in the first place. I must have missed that. Sending happy mojo your way. It can only get better right? And the hits just keep onnnnnn comin'!
So after all that effort to rent a van and load the FJR into it last night, the damn van breaks down on 19 and we're stuck at an Exxon station near Hico, WV. Uhaul will likely come and tow us to a nearby Ford dealer and they will fix the van in the morning. It's apparently a known issue with the throttle bodies and is a 20 minute fix if the part is in stock.
Yee haw.
You only got home 2 hours later than I did. I think it was because you took more breaks. Sorry about all the bad things that happened to you this past weekend, I hope Yamaha comes through for fixing the broken sub frame.Made it home just now, 1am. Glad to be home. Despite the bike and transport issues, it was great seeing/meeting everyone!
WOW! Could it have got any worse, save bodily injury? If you guys didn't cry, I did for you.Made it home just now, 1am. Glad to be home. Despite the bike and transport issues, it was great seeing/meeting everyone!
Boy my heart goes out to Mike and Laura, what a headache!! I think this is only the second time I've ever heard of an FJR letting someone down. Glad both of you are home safe and sound!!You only got home 2 hours later than I did. I think it was because you took more breaks. For those wondering the mount on mikes sub-frame that his AE shifting mechanism is mounted to broke leaving him stranded, Fortunately it happened with a group and in a safe area so he was able to coast to a safe spot. Yes it sucked when and where it happened but Mike & Laura where not harmed or injured, disappointed & frustrated, absolutely.
I am glad you two made it home safe & sound,
Mike & Laura should have been a part of this photo.
WORST EOM banquet dinner ever recorded!I just want to again say kudos to the organizers...for me, that was the best feed put on of many FJR events...awesome!
Sorry to hear Wayne got frozen out of his own dinner...that sucks to no end. But know that was some good eatin!
EDIT: Just for Piehart...that Banana Cream Pie was awesome! Hadn't had that in years.
Wayne, you did an awesome job organizing and running the event. Sorry to hear that you did not get to sample the great food at the banquet you organized. Next year someone will have to put some aside for you if you aren't able to be there at the beginning like this year.

Debbie being second to last going thru (as we had the lucky table that got called last to the *****-hole buffet!) got a little smooshed (scraped out to the corner of the tin pan); salad (at best), nothing (zero) else. I did manage one piece of chicken, but the pulled pork container (and many other thingy's) gone and,,,, No replenishment!. Glad the early tables got their fill
Wayne being the great guy he is, even offered to buy us a pizza but we respectably declined.. And It shouldn't be on him, I understand **** happens. So be it, like I said, lesson learned......
I will no forego the banquet dinner (at next years meet) and put the $78 (me & Deb) towards a steak dinner out else-o-ware.

Another ****** up moment(s) was probably another direct blame on myself, well, since everything is usually anyways! lol. I had a friend (Dave) who owns Grip Buddies donate 10 pairs of grips to be given out at this banquet. Well, they were... and all announced as "Grip Puppies" until someone finally spoke up and said they are Grip BUDDIES!
A kick in the nuts as that is actually competition to Dave's company. Dave (his nickname is Rep) was due to attend, but at the last minute his Dad passed away (well, 2 days before we were to leave). Actually, It's probably a good thing he didn't show up after all, I will (lie) to him and tell him how much his 10 sets of grip were appreciated.
It was a truly great meet and time, don't get me wrong. AND- I wasn't even going to speak up on this ( let it stay buried) but when somebody pokes up and boasts about how great the buffet? hmmmmmmmm!?
I will own this mistake, I own and have used "Grip Puppies" for years and so it was a slip up on my part. I will add that you were sitting right there and could have brought it to our attention right away. I really appreciate all of the folks that worked so hard to get the awesome door prizes and the vendors that donate them and I would never purposely misrepresent something.Another ****** up moment(s) was probably another direct blame on myself, well, since everything is usually anyways! lol.
