Why do I feel I'm never going to get there? I'm working off of a toggle switch because the ignition switch fryed for the second time a couple of weeks ago, my battery is shot to the point of going dead if I leave the GPS on for 5 minutes all because I keep forgetting to shut off the stupid toggle switch, the GPS screen keeps going into a realignment mode for no apparent reason, and now I just noticed there is a forking nail in the rear tire with t-minus 7 hours left until launch!!!

My life has been nothing but tumultuous turmoil for the last 5 months and this was going to be a trip to bring me some peace. I can't wait to see how much peace I'm going to get when I'm stuck in the middle of Brooklyn with a flat tire, a dead battery, and a burnt out toggle switch.....

I'm sure there must be some sort of "Grand Plan" for my life but right now I seem to be missing it.... :angry2:

See you all there.....maybe.

OK - look at me here...

EYES...

EYES....

Work with me here.

Deep breath in....

Hold it...

Focus your mind on nothing.

Repeat after me:

What I am going through now will only enhance my appreciation of the trip to come.

Swithces go bad.

Tires pick up nails.

It's a cruel, imperfect world.

Repeat after me:

What I am going through now will only enhance my appreciation of the trip to come.

Deep breath in....

EDIT....

If the above doesn't work, STFU, quit your pissing and moaning, do what ya gotta do to get the damn bike ready to go, and RIDE ANYWAY.

See ya in Lewisburg.

Plug it, charge it, hotwire it, and pack a set up jumper cables. See you in Lewisburg!

I feel some of your pain >>PAIN<<

In addition, I'm trying to get two people's worth of **** stuff to fit without a trailer or chase vehicle

See ya there, look forward to meeting you! It will be worth it. :)

I will be around until Thursday morning if you need any emergency help.

You slabbing down I-95? Just off 95 at the 133 VA exit.

PM me.

Money cures all things!

Go to the shop and tell them you need a tire and battery and a switch today and just pay for it. As a matter of fact just put it on plastic so you don't actually see the cash. (It seems easier that way doesn't it?)

Look at the bright side.

I got a ticket in NY 3 days ago in the cage at warp factor 10 and that is going to cost me more than your parts and I get nothing for it. At least you get some new stuff.

Buy up and hit the road. I got a cold one waiting for ya.

It's time like this that a wise man taught me this mantra:

"Come or bleed, *****! I've ****** you for the last time!"

Just get there, man. Too many of us counting on it.

I'm leaving at 5 tomorrow morning so I'll be behind ya. If you need something on the way down give me a call (I might even get your message this time) :angry2:

Make sure you bring the FJR assistance list... and find a riding buddy or 2 to hook up with on the way down if you can. I hope to meet you at the next one.

Should I state the obvious & say that you should use the toggle switch to turn your bike off as opposed to the on/off switch? Wellll, I'll avoid saying that.

Plug that ***** & ride, Chris. I will see you on Thursday, Heidi

PS, do you have jumper cables? I've got some & will bring if it'll help.

Also, EOM has discount tires being offered by Freedom Motorsports in Princeton if you really don't feel good about riding on a plugged tire. BUT, you need to get to WV for that option.

Good luck Axe, was looking forward to buying you some beers but I'm not going to make it.

If you locate JoeVelocity, just tell him you're there to accept the beers he owes me :)

That sucks Matt. Sorry that I won't see you, Heidi

I made it to Burkeville VA :yahoo: Left at 4:30AM and got here at 3:00. I know it was stupid but I had no time to plug it so I ran it anyway figuring I would fix it on the road if I had to. Kept one eyeball on the Smartire readout the whole way.

I also called Freedom in Princeton to see if they have a new battery and they do so I may have to do the tire thing AND the battery thing on Friday.

Next phase, Burkeville to Meherrin VA and final leg to Louisville. Keep those NA beers cold, I'm on my way!!
