Paging Grumpy to the white courtesy phone...

Here's MY route for EOM. I'm thinking three days / 2,200 miles... it would be fun!!!

Those are some unbelievable routes! Can only (jealously) imagine the time it took to get everything ran, setup, and squared away! Nice job and well done for sure. A HUGE thanks to all of you who made this thing possible for the rest of us. Looking forward to getting down there and meeting all of you!

I'm in! I see ONE gas stop on that route. I'll meet you there.

I think Jeff finally got into that beer I recommended last week! That route sure looks like drunk staggers to me. :D

I can hear my GPS trying to run that...

"Turn in ... WTF? You're kidding, right?"

Thank you everyone that contributed!!!

Thanks also to whomever is hosting the downloads, providing bandwidth. I'll buy them an adult beverage of their choice.

I have the routes all loaded into Mr. GiPS. They look awesome! Many thanks to all who planned and plotted them. This is going to be one great ride. My goal is to tackle as many as possible in the time allowed. I'll be there 5 days and there are 9 routes. Looks like 2 a day may be in order?

I second the motions... :clapping:

Many thanks to Jeff, Jim, Heidi and all that helped with the routes. It is great to have them and not just for EOM but for future reference.

And additional thanks to Jeff who helped me find some good roads on my way to/from EOM.

Hope to meet you all soon.

Jeff, I got the GPX file loaded on my 550. I was trying to open the MPS file within Mapsource and it won't open it. My version is looking for a .gdb (Garmin Data Base) file. Is there something I need to do the MPS file to open it? I'm not real Mapsource savy.

Thanks to all for putting this together!

MapSource (or MapSucks as I like to call it) will open the GPX or GDB formats. They are all on the site.

The MPS format is for a very few that have older Garmin units that won't read any of the newer formats.

Pardon my stupidity. There it is, right in front of me. Sorry about that Jeff.

By the way, I agree with your more accurate name for the program. You would think Garmin could come up with something better.

Finally got the new Garmin 2820 & loaded up the EOM maps. :D

Thanks again, to everyone who worked on the routes!

Is it September yet?

Why, yes IT IS :yahoo:

Pardon the hijack.

I believe MapSuck's big issue is that Garmin paid to get the rendering engine (part of the program used to create the displayed image) developed only once. They apparently use the same display engine for both the GPS device and the computer screen in MapSucks. So MapSucks fails to recognize or take advantage of all the extra pixels on a typical computer screen to show additional detail when zoomed out past the 1.0 mile range.

It's a true WYSIWYG display that pretty much matches what a Zumo screen will display. Unfortunately, that's not what we're trying to do with MapSucks.

HUGE thanks to all. Got them loaded on my pc and uploaded to my Quest II (old but still working).

I'm thinking about leaving tomorrow so I can ride them all!

See you there.
