Wow, what a blast! :yahoo:

I know it's a lot of damn work to pull off a get together like EOM 06

Thanks to slappy, really... Excellent routes, rider meeting to tell us what's up, rides, and tasty wings. I think QuickSilver? pulled together the door prizes? Kudo's to you too and anyone else involved in that. I know Heidi and a bunch of others helped out a ton but I don't know who you are.

I know this stuff would never happen if y'all didn't step to the plate and make it so.

FJRChick and her hubby really know how to tailgate and grill up some tasty meals.

:yahoo:

Fencer, thanks for splitting the room, and apparently putting up with my snoring. I didn't notice it, I was sleeping. Congrats on the SS1k :D Don't lose your paperwork.

Woohoo, I took a few pics and will post them later.

It really was big fun.

I especially liked seeing all the FJR's together at the INN. I was unable to ride any this weekend due to a back injury so we came in the wife's car to take photos and visit with everyone.

My only regret is that I didn't get time to see if any of the 06 owners would let me sit on their bike for a minute just to see how it feels. I'm looking for an initial level of comfort way more user friendly than my 06 FZ1. I just might trade up in the coming year, but I guess I'll have to wait until a Yamaha Dealer gets an 07 on the showroom floor next Spring.

I couldn't do the trade 'til then anyway. I don't want to be without a bike this Fall and Winter like I was last year. That sucked along with waiting four months for my bike to arrive. For a while there I thought they ordered an 06 FJR instead of the FZ1 ...which would have been fine. That's what I wanted anyway. It was just a money thing that kept me from the bigger commitment.

Oh, ...and I want to thank Brazos Parker (Mike), and a couple of other very nice folks of which I failed to catch their names that went out of their way to include my girls in the gathering Saturday evening. Just small gestures like giving the girls a couple of hats made them feel included and that was cool. It was their first bike rally at ages 10 and 13. They didn't know exactly what to think at first but later said they had a good time. Thanks again guys!

Roger :)

Lorie and I want to add our thanks too. Slappy and others - can't name them all! - put on a great event. We met new friends and even met up with "the BMW guy" who we served with in Hawaii more than 20 years ago! Nice place to stay and beautiful country. We were glad to met all the folks we did and sorry we didn't get to talk with those didn't get the chance to meet - hopefully next time!

Thanks again to all who worked so hard to make this a memorable event!

Jim and Lorie

Thanks!!!! This was my first "meet" or rally or whatever you call it. I learned plenty from the experience!!! Some examples would be... when to get new tires...how NOT to take a sharp turn...how hitting a guardrail doesn’t have to be that bad...and that FJR people are good people.

Also I wanted to thank Renegade, Sean, David, and Brent for their help and for donating a plastic screw each so I could mount the windshield. Also FJR chik for a good story...a story I thought of just before going air born. (Jags won...man that woulda been a great game to be at!! ) And of course Slapnpop for putting in the work and pulling this thing off.

I also decided that since I would like to put many more miles on this FJR that a couple of scratches are just fine!!

Okay thanks to all...it was nice meeting and mingling with you. Ugh now back to work...and I'm late!

I would also like to thank Travis & anyone else involved in pulling off a great event. It was my first meet & I had a great time riding in the area, meeting new friends, & look forward to doing it next year.

Thanks

Tom

I would also like to thank everyone involved in putting this together. I had a blast and met some wonderful people. The location was perfect and I was really impressed with the door prizes. I look forward to next year!

Larry

My $0.02...I want to add my "Thanx" to Travis (who did a lot of the heavy lifting for this meet) and all others who had a hand in pulling off EOM 2006. I enjoyed meeting many of the "FJR Family" and look forward to seeing everyone next year.

The rides were great as well but, let me tell you, I really enjoyed seeing all the bikes in one place and walking around "gawking" at all the modifications/farkling people have done to their bikes! I don't think there were any 2 bikes set-up the same way. A "tip of my hat" to all you creative FJR owners... :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Be safe out there...

Excellent time. Thanks to Travis and Mrs. SlapnPop for their gargantuan effort. All those twisty roads, good laughs, and mediocre food and I still took home a Starcom Advance as a door prize donated by the mighty Jeff from SportBikeEffects.....I thought for sure I was going to end up with a pen and one of those ugly WFO-5 hats.

Richard (TripleTango), please try to keep your motorcycle in its upright position unless there is a church lady around to help you pick it up. Look at it this way, its probably the first AE tipover....I promise not to tell anyone...

Got home about 4:00 this afternoon. I would like to add my thanks to Travis and Maureen and all the others who had a hand in planning and putting on this great event. Met lots of new folks, did lots of great riding and look forward to EOM 2007.

And a big Thank You to the anonymous benefactor who picked up the tab for Sunday nights dinner. :clapping:

Ditto.

It was a fantastic event. Even though my Triumph Speed Triple did not exactly "fit right in" I felt welcome and it was great to put faces to the forum names.

A few put in a lot of work for the many and they are to be praised. It was a great weekend.

You all keep this up and I might have to start looking into a FJR, again.

rad

Even though I didn't attend, I'd like to give a hearty congratulations to the EOM organizers. As a WFO organizer I have this slight inkling of what it takes to organize one of these events. Just from the few pictures and notes I've seen, you EOM folks put on a great event. :clapping: :clapping:

Good on 'ya.

Perhaps all us regional events will be able to pool efforts in '07 and make a national event happen....

+10 :yahoo: Got home about 5PM today. Had a great time. Really enjoyed the routes and meeting some of the fine folks that gathered there. Looking forward to the next one. :clapping: :clapping:

A HUGE THANK YOU to Travis and all that put forth so much time and effort. And to whomever picked up the dinner tab, that was a super generous gesture. Thank you all very much!

Made it home just before 4:00 today. Pointed Iris toward coffee and back to Boone. Hope she got back okay.

We all three (myself, Iris and TTT) parted ways just north of Charlotte.

Can't wait to follow Grumpy around some more and see if I can keep his taillights in sight!

Lot's of great riders and certainly exactly what I anticipated for my very first "meet", great people who love motorcycles.

It just doesn't get any better. :yahoo:

Oh yeah baby... ditto on the thank you for dinner. What a selfless thing for someone to do.

Also, ditto on the home arrival time. Would've been here earlier if it weren't for the fog on the BRP & the nice officer in South Hill, VA. I forgot to tell him that he's my "hero for the day" for letting the performance award slide.

I'd like to thank all organizers for this event. It went off well.

Grassy ass!!!

You know... makes this Westerner just want to travel to next years event.... :D . Somebody buy me a beer if I get there?

About that beer... Not just, "YEAH"... but HELL YEAH!!!

If rumors have any truth to them then I'd say the EOM will be held in WV next year.

Hi Axeman,

Glad you got back OK. Now let's see the 2 bikes that i have not tipped over are my MG 750 breva and my MZ Skorpion tour. Probably because they are light.

All my big bikes I have tipped over once or twice.

My Mother smoked before I was born and everything below my waist is short including my legs!

My heart felt thank to the wonderful lady that said to me as she was lifting the bike up "OH my this thing is heavy." Allejulia no shit! These 06s are heavy, i can lift my 05 up no problem! I thanked her profusely and sheepishly shifted the AE down 5 gears crashing and clanking like the box had given up before I could get going and disappeared into the distance trying to catch you guys up who went on and actually made the correct right turn to where we were going.

You have heard all my excuses so I won't repeat them here!

dcarver, tell ya what... If'n you come next year you're gonna have to spend at least a week and you're gonna have to trailer out and bring that dirtbike too.

There some good ridin out younder.

And if rumors are true... Then we're gonna whoop it up in West-by-God-Virginy
