Similar to the reverse sit-ups I described. Sounds like a good regimen.

WHERE your back is injured will alter the exercises. Low back injuries (Lumbar) may require different exercises than mid or upper back injuries.

EastTNFJR,Do you know what the sucess rates are for surgical disc work? I need to have my disc " shaved ", know what I mean? I've tried all the Yanktar suggestions for the last 9 months and I'm considering surgery at this point. Are there any decent web sites your aware of that furnish this type of info? Webmd is pretty basic in it's information.
Well, like I said I see only the repeat offenders. I would do a Google search on success rates for surgical intervention. I couldn't tell you the rates and you probably would have aas good a luck as me inlooking up this stuff. I hope your surgery goes well. Go see the "Save a Back" site if they have one and lok at their information, They may have the success rates for different types of procedures.

Good Luck on your search and I hope your back feels better soon!

I have known several people to have surgery for disc problems. 15 years ago and further back the results were not good. I have 2 friends who barely walk that had surgery many years back. I also know people who have had the same type of surgery since about 1995. Everyone I know with recent surgery has been happy with the results. The surgeons have learned a lot in the last 20 years. You just need to find a Dr. who comes highly recommended.

Very Very true Yanktar, all excercises should only be done per a doc's directions or things could get worse. I am not allowed any forward bending stretches because of where my injury is located.

And I have " googled " till my eyes have fallen out on sucess rates. Not a lot of confirmable info out there, just some generic percentages, that differ on different sites.

Thanks guys.
