My old Escort Passport 8500 (bought refurbished) has served me well, but it is getting a bit long in the tooth. I had been thinking about getting a newer RD and came across this deal on eBay.

This is being sold by the Escort factory after refurbishment with a full factory warranty. I purchased (2) of these (actually the older non X-50 passport 8500s) many years ago, and they have both worked fine.

Yup, very good point Eric. I should have mentioned that earlier. These are not current "state of the art" radar detectors with all the GPS enhanced anti-falsing, or smartphone integration "bells and whistles".

What they are is just a good basic radar detector that will reliably alert you to the presence of radar signals in the X, K, and Ka bands. (I turn off X band as it is a nuisance), and they will also make noise when you are about to receive a ticket from LiDAR,

I have no need to pay twice as much, or more, for all those new bells and whistles. You may have other needs.
