Just returned from my Eur06 tour. 4200km twisties in the French Alps. Here's some pictures for you to enjoy. Video will follow later, as I haven't had time to load everything yet.

Oops. Road block!

Overlooking a glacier lake.

Grey and wet looking Col de l'Iseran, second highest paved pass in the Alps. Me don't like wet.

Does look impressive though, in a depressing, eary way.

Next day is all good again, this is the view from my hotel room.

Being stopped for a bicycle race in Italy. But how serious do you take a cop riding this??

Yet another pass. We only did 35 orso in 6 days, so we were really bored.. ;)

Really a pretty country, with great roads.

La Bonnette, highest paved road in the Alps. You really are on top of the world there.

See?

Coming down to a pretty lake. Pretty big too.

Up on Pt. St. Bernard.

There was a FJR there too. ;)

Up on St Gotthart. The cobble stone road of the old pass is a disaster to ride, but it is sooooo pretty.

In all it was a great trip. Unfortunately one of us washed out in the rain, damaging his bike but fortunately no major injuries. As said, video will come later. I will compile a nice clip on board the FJR hauling *** up the Grande St. Bernard, which is a thrilling ride.

If you want to see more than this selection of pictures, visit my gallery here: https://gallery.sport-touring.eu/trips/eur06

If you enjoy cars, bikes, trains, steam and technology, I also visited the Auto & Technik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany. Pictures of that are here: https://gallery.sport-touring.eu/trips/sinsheim/

Very very nice trip... !

It amazes me that people actually are able to race bicycles up to the top of those passes.

Yes, we had a group of 8 this year. 3 Dutch, and 5 Americans. The 'Mericans had rental bikes, except for 2 who are living in Germany.

We had:

1 FJR1300 (me, leading the bunch)

1 ZXR750R

1 ST4s

1 CBR1100XX

1 VFR800

1 ZX750

1 RSV-R1000

1 VFR750F

This is becoming a traditional annual ride. This year was the 3rd incarnation of it. Except for 3, the people have been different each year, but it has been great fun each time.

If you are interested I can give you heads up when we start planning the next ride. Word of warning: This is not a tourist and visit the sites ride. This is challanging/intens sport-touring from 8am to 7pm or about for 6 days in a row on some of the most challenging, fun roads you can imagine.

Also see my video elsewhere on the forums.
