I haven't had a lot of ride time lately so I went out after the sun went down, no particular place to go or be, just wandering around. On rte 80 (in N. Madison I think), I was behind a car at about 55mph, slow left bend. A pickup coming the orther way never clicked off it's high beams. The car in front of me swerved some but never hit the brakes. I let off the gas but didn't see it till to late. The car in front did hit it, it was still rolling to the right. I swerved left slightly more but didn't want to make any sudden changes mid corner. It wasn't so much off a bump as it was a slide to the right. It wasn't very big just long. I thought it might have been a possum, I only saw it for a second when the truck had gone by. It scraed the crap out of me and I slowed down a lot. I could faintly smell skunk for a few miles. then I caught up to the car again that's when I could really smell it, that car stunk. That was when I was sure it was a skunk. I got home at 10:45 and left the bike outside all the lights were of but the porch everyone was asleep, I went in and went right to sleep to. After work today I could see the dried stuff on the left side of my front tire, but it didn't stink. I think only the car got that. From what was on the side of my tire, I think the long part I hit may have been skunk guts, so I don't known how I got away without stinking but I'm not complaining. And I was worried about some of the deer I saw jumping out in front of me. I guess they're not the only hazards. Peter
