Not often am I glad to be on 4 wheels. Today was an exception when I approached a 4 way stop east of Turlock, Ca on Hickman road. What looked to be water across the road turned out to be ATF from someone who had a total transmission melt down right at the stop sign. The fluid really looked like water (I surmised that it was from water trucks that travel the area watering dirt lanes) so I wasn't too concerned. When it was my turn to go, the entire back end broke loose as I had 0 traction and thought about what that scenario would've been like on 2 wheels, sliding right through the stop sign, etc... From here on out, during the non-rainy season, I'll treat anything on the road that looks like water as super evil and avoid it, even if it means going along the shoulder or waiting until the opposite lane is clear. Lesson learned (painlessly).

Thanks for the enlightenment!
