I notice that on both our bikes, there is a guard over the front part of the exhaust pipe on the right, but there is not one on the left. What's the logic here? I did a search and found that the 2016's are the same.
The pipe positions are not actually symmetrical. Look at them from the back at a distance.By why wouldn't boots melt on the left side if they would melt on the right?
Hey, now... standard motorcycle forum rules apply: "Pics, or it didn't happen".I upgraded my mufflers to the Y series, and they come with a guard on both sides. Smaller than the original, but they look nice. They even have a embossed FJR on them.
Did same as John...got pics, but no way to post from my "hostage" PB account.I upgraded my mufflers to the Y series, and they come with a guard on both sides. Smaller than the original, but they look nice. They even have a embossed FJR on them.
Memo to self "Always search on NEPRT first before posting a question!"Been talked about a variety of times since at least 2014 on the forum including this horribly titled thread that has yet another link in it.
I am pretty sure he means the GYTR Yamaha/Yoshimura slip ons. The newer ones say "FJR" but the originals were labled GYTR. And yes, they have guards on both sides. At the low, low price of $1050.99 they are quite a bargain if you need a heat guard on both sides.Hey, now... standard motorcycle forum rules apply: "Pics, or it didn't happen".I upgraded my mufflers to the Y series, and they come with a guard on both sides. Let's see a couple photos of this 'Y-series' setup, please...
They are not the GYTR version, they are the newer Y series, although I'm guessing they are the same, but different branding. I got mine for a lot less, $800. Still expensive, but you can't take it with you, so enjoy it while you can.I am pretty sure he means the GYTR Yamaha/Yoshimura slip ons. The newer ones say "FJR" but the originals were labled GYTR.
