Well damn, and thank you all. I need to set the odometer back now. And wouldn't you know it, with only a year left to eligibility for the $10 lifetime National Parks pass rate, some of our congress-critters are thinking about raising it!!! 1
My net surfing time has gone down dramatically lately (though time spent doing what some of you suggested has gone up -- in answer to a couple of your "thoughtful" birthday wishes.) And John, I'm sorry to report that the taxman had his way with me in a rough, unnatural and painful manner. 2 Now that that ordeal is almost over, I may get back to the delayed September task of getting my FJR running and the Blackbird ready for sale.
PLUS -- some riding again now that it's getting really nice out!!!!!! Thanks again for the birthday wishes (though I'm still trying to unsee the pictorial representations of Barry's salutation). Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you folks on some rides this season.

2A long time client had been unable to pay me for a couple years (during which my taxable income was in the $10 to $15K range) but paid me in full upon the sale of their major asset in 2012 (got paid, but I also enjoyed twice the tax rate of a presidential candidate in writing checks this birthday).

Pretty sure they can cover the cost of national park maintenance if they raise the cost of those Senior Passes to, oh, a couple hundred thousand each. (And everybody over 62 is required to get one.) Thanks, Jackie. Too political? Damn!
