At up to $100 per hour for the dealer to perform work on your FJR, just imagine what a simple repair would cost. Any sensor that goes out or malfunctions will cost you the price of the warranty. More reasons to get the warranty than not to purchase the total of 5 years unlimited mile peace of mind.

I vote YES, on the YES, only because the price of any repair that you can get them to pick up under warranty will cover it. In (4) years it only takes one basically given the labor rates.

So if you take the cost of YES and spread it out over 4 years It's ~$100ish a year, or around $10 a month.

The unlimited mileage aspect makes it almost a no brainer to me.

I think that the Y.E.S. is like carrying a tire repair kit. If you have it you will never need it. If you don't it is for sure you will.

I'll post this one more time....the dealers cost for the warranty is $345...that is what I paid. But, I know how to negotiate and I'm not scared to walk out the door if the deal doesn't suit me.....

It's all a game of intimidation.......And Remember the Golden Rule "HE WITH THE GOLD, RULES!" And you got the GOLD and the dealer wants it badly, very badly....

You can make the SOBs beg like dog, if your that good......

I am considering a new FJR ...
Do you recommend $600+ for a 3 year extended waranty?

80% of all, not just motorcycle, extended warranties are never used. Big money maker for those selling them. The tactic's employed to sell them are like most sales tactics "fear".

You ever have occasion to use the extended warranty?

It seems like you're doing a good job dusting off seriously rusty old threads. Congrats.

FYI, Starcruiser was a troll and is no longer with us. You're talking to dead air there my friend.

Y.E.S. I paid $400 for mine from same dealer I bought the bike from, thats and extra $100 ayear after the first year to not have to worry about strange squeaks and rattles, just take it to the dealer and say fix it.

unlimited milage is the key, makes it all worth it for me. I burned up the 36month/36000 mile waranity on the cage in a year.

I've often wondered if having a YES included with a used bike when being sold had any effect on the "saleability" of the bike.

My '04 had a YES, but I never thought to ask the buyer if it mattered to him or not. I bought the '04 slightly used, and considered the YES that came with it a plus as far as the price went-- that was prior to my being informed of the dreaded "tick" issue-- then I really like the fact it was there so I could sleep well at night.

I bought one for the '06 thinking it might be a perk for the prospective customer when the day comes to sell it.

Maybe fodder for a new poll among the folks who bought used bikes?

B)
