After a flag to flag win in Australia last weekend, Lewis Hamilton could only manage 4th in Malaysia today. He was delayed by a qualifying error when he baulked one of the BMW's and was peanalised by being moved from 4th on the grid to 9th.

Masser (spell?) in the Ferrari spun off from a comfortable 2nd position, when "something strange happened" at the rear of the car. Raikkenan (in the other Ferrari)dominated from start to finish from Kubitzer with Koverlinen in third.

Hamilton was further frustrated when a wheel gun failed to operate properly and delayed one of his pit stops, costing him third place. He also had problems with his drink tube and became dehydrated in the Malaysian humidity. When asked what he was thinking whilst the mechanics struggled with his wheel, he answered,

"I could do with a beer".

Hamilton still leads by 3 points.

Just damn. Thanks for ruining it for me. It came on @ 2:30am here in GA and I recorded it so I cold watch later in the day here after Easter festivities. Oh well, I guess I don't need to watch it now. Maybe I'll go for a spin. :angry2:

It does say SPOILER in big letters in the thread title you numpty! That means it will spoil it for you if you read the thread.

Don't worry, I posted without putting spoiler when I first joined this magnificent brotherhood and was promptly left hanging by my gerbills over the Golden Gate Bridge for 4 years. I have managed to remember to put it in the title ever since.

So I plead not guilty your worship........

Anyway, riding your bike has got to be better than watching F1 !!!

None taken.

It's really early yet to say who's going to take the championship. The first two races have been pretty good. Without computers helping, the guys have to learn how to drive again... or rather adapt to the handling of the car.

As I replay the instance, it appears that it wasn't a wheel gun malfunction as much as as it was a very hot swollen wheel shroud. Hamilton really hammered the brakes this race or the cooling wasn't that good.

I'm sure that if Hamilton hadn't been penalized, he would have been on the podium. He at least got a few points. There are a bevy of good drivers this year... pretty impressive stuff. Alonso drives the crap out of his car. Massa just got caught off guard with a bit of oversteer. Hamilton almost did with his front wing demands and brake bias maneuvers.

Good race.

PS: Kiteman, you putz! It says SPOILER for a reason!

Agree on all points.

Some really good racing behind Raikkonnen (and I don't know how to spell those Finnish names either). How about that double pass by Heidfeld on Alonso and... well, now I forget who the 3rd driver was, maybe Coulthard or Webber?
