When I recently removed my swing arm to lube things, I found that the torque specs had evidently been reversed from the factory:

The locking nuts were not much more than finger tight, maybe 15-20 lbs, but the bolt itself took a 1/2" breaker bar and a grunt to get it loose. Maybe not 90 lbs but far more than the spec'd 5 ft lbs.

Anyone else run into this? The only problem from it seems to be a deformed oil seal on the left side. Bearings seem ok, I think the spacer took the extra pressure.

Russ, Mine seemed right to me. It only has to be tight enough to keep it from turning & the outer nuts lock it in place. The only real problem (other than the center stand bolts were too tite & inserted from the wrong side) I found was that the shifter arm bolt was too tite causing the shifter to be hard to lift & press. It is held in place by locktite & has a wave (thrust) washer & should be adjusted only tight enough to keep the shifter arm from flopping. You can't really tell it unless you remove the tranny leaver & check that the shifter moves freely. :)
