If you could order from the factory some of the farkles or wish list items, what would they be?

Yep, adequately wide mirrors would be my choice, ...and thats the case on just about every new bike I 'try-on', have always used bar-end mirrors in the past and if someone were to produce a really clean new-tech bar-end that'd looked/worked good on the FJR I'd likely go that route again & save the two holes on either side of the fairing for lights alone.

None!

Traditionally motorcycles haven't come from the factory with "official" OEM options. I think to begin a trend in this direction would begin to turn the motorcycle market into another automobile dealership controlled sales game. Once the dealers are forced to compete by providing OEM options, they'll begin to order bike models "loaded up" and the manufacturers will begin producing motorcycles where the purchaser is left with no option other than the prewired OEM set-up. Are you trying to turn the FJR into another Goldwing with different levels of accoutrement? In doing so are you trying to hinder a buyers ability to strike a good deal...or are you trying to give the manufacturer license to increase the weight because of added ciruitry, fuses, etc.?

I say, "Leave it well enough alone!"

There is nothing on my bike that I can't modify to my personal choice whether mirrors to see around my "wide body" or any variance of throttle lock/cruise control. I can install a separate electrical panel/fuse holder and add any electrical devices I deem necessary for my style of riding (heated gear, switched and unswitched powerlet sockets, hard wired radar detector and GPS, swtich controlled autocom and Gerbing controllers, etc., etc., etc.). Or, as many owners already do: Ride the bike as delivered with no farkles!

Yamaha isn't your mother so they are not prepared to present a motorcycle that can be all things to all people. They do, however, build a very nice platform on which I can build a bike to parameters that fulfill my desires and modify the bike to fit my physical/personal needs and desires.

For some of us, that's a big part of the overall motorcycle experience.

Tinkering often turns a lousy riding day into a good motorcycle day.

Not always, but often enough IMHO.

I'd love a factory installed BBQ.....and a wet bar.

Actually - a factory installed radar invisibility shield would be helpful.

Factory cruise.

A throttle that works well without 4 farkles.

Tire pressure monitor.

Self canceling turn signals.

Candy Apple Red.

A V4.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.
