A little help would be apppreciated.

I'm in the middle of installing the Audiovox Cruise Control and having a bit of a trouble getting the fairing off for full access.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Bob

If the fairing is giving you trouble, the install should be handled by someone with a little more savvy. Several steps, done improperly, can not only ruin components, but render the machine unsafe.

Why do you need to take the fairing off?
I was just trying to have better access to get to the coil and run the wires.
Ah, I SEE grasshopper. I loosened the side fairing screws and just tugged the upper fairing out of the way (but did not remove it). Battling the plastic is a LOT easier than trying to remove the entire fairing. See if you can get any slack out of the coil wire, you should be able to tap into it without removing the entire fairing... which I understand is NO easy/simple chore.

Did you have any concern about the wires being under the heat shield possible getting damaged?

Nope, not worried about wires under the tank heat shield. Just try to keep them from rubbing into a ground/short.

Don't hook into the coil wire at the coil, but at the ECM, and you'll not have to **** with the fairing at all.
