I was given this picture from a venture rider. I was wondering if anyone knows someone in the netherlands that might possibly own an FJR and might be able to find the manufacturer of this fairing extension. Also wondering if there would be anyone else who would be interested in purchasing one. Looks like the weather protection is far superior to what the FJR now has. Figured the LD riders would jump all over it

Police FJR.

I am interested in those fairing pieces as well.

This was discussed and I sent an email to the nederlands getting the following reply

Dear Mr. Xxxxx,
Thank you for your interest in our products.

As the project manager for government issues for Yamaha Motor Nederland, I am responsible for all the special developments on this motorcycle.

Sofar we have equipped several motorcycles with these fairings, but for the private market these parts are not available.

If you can contact Yamaha U.S. and have them contact us, we can give them information on pricing, distribution etc.

If you want to purchase more than 100 sets, we might be able to deliver directly to you.

These parts are not cheap to manufacture, but they give great weather protection on a FJR1300.

Hope this anwers your questions.

Best regards,

Hans van Zundert

I asked if anyone had a contact with Yamaha USA, no responce. I decided that there might not be enough intrest to get this stuff over here at a remotely reasonable price.

Was I wrong, because I for one, really like the extra weather protection and with the right paint it would look even better.

For me they wouldn't have to even be reasonably priced.

Just semi-reasonably priced. :D

(I just finished a 50 mile ride home from work in the dark and pouring rain in forest-rat infested country at 40 degrees. Any extra protection would be great!)

I too would be interested even if somewhat expensive. If we could poll and get enough folks on board maybe we could get them on our own. Where's slap n pop when ya need him. :D

You guys may want to ping afterburn or TeeRex. IIRC, Tee has already made contact with the mfg regarding a pillion box...

I'll be glad to help folks, soon as I return from Buttfook, China  where I'm at right now.

Otherwise, as TWN pointed out, I'm sure our Dutch comrade Afterburn can help you all out.

I am of Dutch ancestry, and just returned 5 weeks ago from Holland visiting my folks. One of my uncles is a policeman in Holland, who also rides motorcycles! I am going to send him an email this weekend to see the availability of the modified fairing. I'm making no promises other than to look into it!

;)

I am currently trying to find out who makes these. I have a few leads on companies here that have done fairing work for the police before, and I have written them emails enquiring on this.

i will let you know if and when I find out.

Carrera: if you can find out if it is indeed Schurgers that made these, that would be helpful. :)

There are these guys in the UK:

Link

But I don't think that they produce the plastics. I did a google for FJR1300P and got mostly Japanese sites. I'm pretty sure those guys are in the Netherlands and I recall that there was a link from the Yammy Dutch site, but it's gone now.

Edit:

A thought just occurred to me (yeah, no ****!); has anyone checked out the electrical capacity of the 'P' model? Is it more than the civilian models?

It quite possibly is. I know they increased capacity for the Ambulance version that rides here (the neon yellow with blue stripes in this thread) cause of all the medical equipment.

Apparently we aren't doing enough clamoring B) I talked with the Yamaha rep at the Denver show and he told me I was the first one to complain about the lack of juice for this bike. Somehow I have a hard time believing that one.

That's likely what he said to the five people before each having the same complaint. ;)

Hi Guys

did this ever go anywhere?

I would love to get my hands on a set of those little extenders (up top and forwards on the fairing - not the foot protections)

TIA - Bull
