A week ago Saturday, the Mrs. and I went for a ride (RR, Not so fallen colors) and although we had a good ride with great company, the colors were a bit lacking. Yesterday, in anticipation of beating an approaching winter like storm that may close some of the passes for a while, we decided to try again. We crossed over the Sierras on Tioga Pass Road (120) South on 395 to Mammoth for lunch. Then headed back toward the June Lake Loop, up 395 to Virginia Lakes for some more colors and then returned home on our favorite, Sonora Pass (108). There are some really nice contrasts this time around and even got a pic that will send Bust into a tail spin!

Bust, this one's for you. Just outside of Bridgeport, coordinates available for a beer or two ;) .

I like the way you threw in a burro (one is all he can do these days) so Beemerdon could have some loving too.

Great pictures John, I'm sure there would be snow in those shots today.

Nicely done, John.

As the Hippo Jockey noted, you made it just under the wire.

Looks like the friggin' PNW up here today.
No OM it's not wet and we have Maple leave big enough to trip over.

Nice pictures by the way, you Cal folks are lucky in the fact that you can ride all year.

What the heck...you trying to dehydrate the man???!!!

He'll be nothing but a pile of dust in a well worn shop floor in no time after he sees this. For the love of all things right...take that photo down!

Bust borrowed Miss Luci Lui, Beemerdon's FJR, for the LaPine RTE. When Bust sees this Beemerdon's phone will be ringing again and Bust will have an airplane ticket in hand (one way). Bridgeport isn't all that big so Bust will ride until he finds his flock, he won't need no coordinates.

Nice ride report and thanks for sharing.

All... thanks for the kudos on the pics, but the Mrs. deserves all the credit for them. Most are taken at an average of 50mph so she has to frame the shots pretty quickly, but does get some real winners. As they say, you shoulda seen the one that got away. Regarding the pic that Georgia Roller reposted, a split second before the shutter captured that shot, there was an absolute "wall" of yellow leaves blown up in front of us, very cool, but as Maxwell Smart used to say "missed it by that much". We picked an awesome day to ride and as they say, timing is everything, snow has closed all the passes today so it'll be interesting to see if they open up again or will more storms come through and finish the job? Kinda of interested to see what Barry will say about having all those ewes lined up.
