As you may have read in an earlier post, my 06 was stolen in San Diego on October 15. :ranting2:

Sucks, but such is life.

I have decided not to get another bike at all. :shok:

The reason is that I have accepted a new position within my company on a different account. The new account is with the government of Singapore. :woot:

I will be leaving the country after Christmas. I am probably not coming back for several years. I'm liquidating my apartment here in San Diego rather than paying to store stuff indefinately. I'm purging, just packing 2 suitcases of clothes, donating the rest to St. Vincent DePaul, flying to Indiana to visit family during Christmas, then heading out for the next chapter in my crazy life the day after Christmas.

Related, if anyone is looking for a cheap but engine-sound mafia-boat of a beach/town car (96 Caddy DeVille) or a 55" HDTV, let me know. They are the only large $ items left unclaimed. I'm also listing my bike stuff on this board in the Barter section. Everything I still have by December will get dumped for dirt-cheap on CraigsList just to be rid of it, but I need a pretty hefty $$$ deposit for an apartment over there, they require 3 months deposit (!) and rent is higher there than California, if you can believe it. :mega shok:

From a housekeeping note: the website where I was hosting the PCIII mapping files had to undergo some changes. In the process of backing up all my data to my web storage (since I'm buying a new computer there rather than ship my old one), I changed some directory names, so the old ones broke. :poster_oops:

If a board admin wants to edit my old post or make a new announcement post, I will continue hosting those PCIII mappings at a new address...

https://www.gellenbeck.com/public/apps/PCIII/

I'm porting a LOT of data as I post this, and I don't know how far down the queue the PCIII files are, but it will be there by Sunday 11/16.

If you ever need anything or you have PCIII files to post, feel free to message me here. I should get notification and I'll send you my direct email address.

Thank you to everyone I've met over the last 2 years through this board. Jdog, Fairlane and all the rest of you crazy California crew I've met, you especially and the magical areas we have ridden here in SoCal will never be forgotten.

Farewell! :bye2: :bye:

p.s. This is for Tim, since I couldn't make it up there for his memorial... :finger:

Wow, sounds exciting.

Sockmonkey lived over there for a number of years if you're looking to speak to an insider. He is not a beautiful woman, though.

Good luck.

At least come by & visit ! I wish you much luck with working overseas and hope it works out for you - I know I couldn't do it as life is to short but others love it .

Hey RayBan,

Good luck to you and your next adventure! WOW. What changes and opportunities you are in for!

Don

Good luck on your next chapter of life's journey, I am quite sure you will enjoy the experience and come back some day with an experience you wouldn't want to have missed.

I've lived in many parts of the world and had never any regrets.

Be well

Alfred

Good luck, brother, and it does indeed sound exciting! Best of luck.

When you get settled over there, drop in and tell us how it is going for you!

BTW, we have several FJRForum members who live in Sigapore... hopefully, they will catch this thread and drop you a note!

Wow ! I would be so excited in your shoes ! Life is too short to stay in one place too long...that'll happen anyway sooner or later and you're gonna have some awesome life experiences to share. And you know you dont need a bike to be welcome here so please do drop us a line from time to time. Best of luck buddy ! :clapping:

Blessings,

Bobby

Good luck, Singapore is a great place. Try the chilli crabs and segalis(sp). Bunch of bikes there too. Watch out, they drive on the "other" side of the road.

That is too cool!

Thanks for continuing the PCIII map host. Have fun in your next life!

Good luck, my uncle has gone there on and off for years. Never lived there, but seems to like it. In regards to the HDTV, my parents live in San Diego, I will send you PM.

Neal

If your single you're going to love Singapore. I go through there several times a year to go to DG. I was just there is Sep, right before the F1 race. Its a great place but got to get used to the humidity. Crap, I wish I was single and moving to Singapore. If you need an excellent travel agent or jeweler from there let me know.

Good Luck. :drinks:

Good stuff RayBan...

I did the same back in June of 08. Now I am settled in Dubai but kept the bike in Cali.

I saw one FJR on Sheikh Zayed highway :) the other day.

Good luck with the move and wish you the best.

Don't worry about the humidity...we have 95% and 120degrees in the summer :) .

Take care

Rayban,

Thanks again for the stator hookup and best wishes for happiness and prosperity in your new life direction!

Rayban...

Good luck, I'm jealous. Good on you for snagging what sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime.

Keep us posted on how things go over yonder.
