Don't feel bad. It's not your fault. There is a top secret substance mixed into the bike's fluids. When the smallest amount touches your clothing or skin you get the disease. FARKLITUS. It's a serious affliction with no known cure.

Check out this link for my own symptoms. I've subsequently added the Vstrom handguards, a V46 topbox and an espresso maker.

I'm not sure if it's so much the bike as it is this forum. I wouldn't know 90% of this stuff existed without FJRForum.com.

Definitely don't feel bad - you should see the list of farkles I put on my GL1800 and it will make you feel better!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Shane

Help, I believe that I too have caught FARKLITUS. I am buying things already for my bike and it won't be here until may, and its all the fault of you people on the forum.

The BAD news:

Farklitus is expensive and chronic.

The GOOD news:

It's not fatal, and unless your spouse sees the visa bill it can be a helluva lot of fun.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

+1

I'd probably have a sticky thermometer and that's about it.

So true. When my riding buddy Steve came over to show me his new Corbin Smuggler (which I too later bought), he had me snap a photo, which I promised to email him later. I got a frantic phone call when he got home: "Lee! Whatever you do, do NOT email that photo! My wife and I share an email address, and if she finds out I bought something else for the bike, she'll kill me."

I guess that's considered blackmail material, huh?

the one farkle that is missing that may be of importance is a..........

GARAGE door opener don't leave home with out it you may be locked out

Farklitis is a hideous, insidious, dangerous affliction. It comes from having internet access and too much available free time and disposable income. I know; I have way more of both now than I did in my earlier motorcycling years. Many, many years ago I rode a '76 CB750-A (full dressed) around for 4 years. The only "farkle" I added to it was a new set of grips and a towel under the seat so I could wipe down the seat in the rain :)

I've bought 7 bikes since 2003 and only one of them got away (so far! - the wife's burgman) without any addons and farkles.

I'm a sick, sick man and I need help.

Let's go down the list:

Skyway's sliders

Hmmm.... Judging from this thread it might be ME that has something wrong with him. (Wait - do "bugs on the front" count as a farkle? I've got lots of those!)

I used to have disposable income, but I got an FJR+farklitis, and disposed of it.

The only known cure for the sickness, is to become a member of a peer group with all the same symptoms and then you will be considered normal by your peers. B)

I found the cure - it is called crashing and totalling your FJR. :dribble:
