I just received my renewal notice, it went from about $600 a year to $1300 for no reason at all, no accidents , no tickets, and my home is insured by them ! :angry03:

Anyone else have a huge jump? Looks like I'm shopping for a new carrier next week!

Cali insurance suggestions are welcome !

I have had good luck with 21st Century. Here in Socal they were less expensive than Farmers, Allstate, Geico and Progressive though the premium undoubtedly varies by policy limits and location. With that driveway of yours......

Geico is 1/2 what Progressive quoted me...now checking 21st Century in Sacramento area and will let you know...

I renewed in April, the best price I could find for a full coverage policy was Foremost.

I use an agent C. Diamond in Long Beach CA he specialises in bike insurance. He has changed me around and currently he has me on Progressive for my car and truck (full coverage), Formost for the Connie (Minimun coverage as I don't really ride it anymore) and Progresive for the FJR (full coverage).

I am not sure, but my 04 from State Farm is around $600 a year, just renewed did, it did not go up.

Maybe there was a misxed up in DMV records, I think you should at least ask why they double the insurance rate, maybe they classified it as a sport bike instead of a tourer.

I know we live pretty close to each other, did you have any claims in your auto insurance or home owner insurance? Maybe something else caused the increase.

Maybe they have been monitoring the FJR forum's for a while. :D

Geico went up a few bucks, but not too bad. I live in a congested area (read higher rates). Still under $600.

Progress quoted me $3,000 for same coverage last year. I almost gave up my $500 deposit when I heard that. Fortunately that company is on crack (or the guy giving me quote was).

It turns out that Farmers puts the youngest driver on the vehicle so my daughter was listed as the primary driver ! I dropped all my cars from Farmers last year after some bad coverage / responses from them ( long story ) , so the bike is the only vehicle insured by them. They will honor last years rates.

Has anyone gotten quotes from AARP ? They have a new bike insurance program this year. I think I'll make a call and get some info.

I'm thinking AARP was thru Formost. I found GMAC(tell them you read rider magazine) and Geico to be the least expensive. I carry extra coverage and have $250 deductables, $560.00 GMAC :cownoy:

Geico was cheaper but I think the uninsured motorest was less. When I come due in Sept I think I will get a Quote from AARP.

Yep your correct Blue. The AARP is through Foremost, who owns Farmers, no win there.

I refuse to deal with Gieco after reading an article that showed them donating funds to PD,s so the can buy radar guns!!

If I remember correctly one of the questions on their application wanted to know if you used a radar detector in/on your vehicles. That raised a red flag for me. Also I read that they supply the actual radar units to many PD's in an effort to promote safety on your streets. :p

State Farm Insurance quoted me $1059 per year for the FJR, with no medical and $1000 deductable on very thing. If I went to a $500 deductable it would have been over $1200 per year. I'm 60 years old and have 3 other cars, and house insuranced through them. No claims in over 35 years and no violations in over 30 years. Rep's answer to why so high - "you live in rural California". Needless to say I did not use State Farm to insure the FJR! Just another reasion why California sucks.

Try calling different State Farm insurance agents and get a quote from them, I am 49, only have the bikes insured with State Farm and not the house or anything else and mine is $600 a year.
