What are we going to have in ten years for superfast bikes? I mean if the manufacturers put a 200mph limit on these bikes, the goals must simply be to keep evolving them up to those velocities in a shorter time frame. Fine enough, but won't these bikes have to get longer wheelbases for the floor models? How many of the next generation will perish on those "toys" they so much deserve since they aquired the $$? You know the generation. It's the one guys like Bradbury and Orwell have always told us about. The one where there is no identifiable genetic trace of common sense and accountability left.
If they keep building bigger more powerful, bigger more powerful, at what point do they/we realize that the human nervous system reacts only so fast. I know why there will never be a 300 mph production bike. Because a sensory input, (the sight of an obstacle in the road for instance) makes the round trip from onset to cognition through billions of neurons, bodily fluids and skeletomusculature in and average of yes, 300mph. I learned that many years ago. The firing of your neurons may be happening near the speed of light, but there are so many neurons, such vast distances for the impulse to travel, and so much that has to happen that the signal from start to finish runs through the entire body in that average speed. Then you have to figure out how to react. We...are simply not that capable in uncontrolled public road conditions.
But if every six years Honda punches out the GL another 200CCs, by 2038 you can expect to see a GL2800 or larger. What HP will it have? Are we going to have 2 alitre bikes. How bout we just hang a jet engine on it like that orange Busa I keep seeing on here? As I've written before, more cars, more drivers, more stop lights, more intersections, and less accountability will only expand. So too will egos get larger, becoming more fragile in the process. You know what those types do with FAST bikes. They attempt to impress...someone. And someone else is watching...waiting for an opportunity to implement a law or two.
But none of this will actually happen. As I have predicted, (and this is by some design on the part of the powerful), we will eventually be surrounded by so many out of control individuals, that they will be the norm. And they will be an excuse to impose control to protect the populace from its very own. MOtorcycles, Long outlawed by the Emperium Clintonium will not exist, but in renegade corners of the untamed Earth, a "shadow" :glare: of what they once were.
Be careful of how much motorcycle you wish for. You may get it.
