What are we going to have in ten years for superfast bikes? I mean if the manufacturers put a 200mph limit on these bikes, the goals must simply be to keep evolving them up to those velocities in a shorter time frame. Fine enough, but won't these bikes have to get longer wheelbases for the floor models? How many of the next generation will perish on those "toys" they so much deserve since they aquired the $$? You know the generation. It's the one guys like Bradbury and Orwell have always told us about. The one where there is no identifiable genetic trace of common sense and accountability left.

If they keep building bigger more powerful, bigger more powerful, at what point do they/we realize that the human nervous system reacts only so fast. I know why there will never be a 300 mph production bike. Because a sensory input, (the sight of an obstacle in the road for instance) makes the round trip from onset to cognition through billions of neurons, bodily fluids and skeletomusculature in and average of yes, 300mph. I learned that many years ago. The firing of your neurons may be happening near the speed of light, but there are so many neurons, such vast distances for the impulse to travel, and so much that has to happen that the signal from start to finish runs through the entire body in that average speed. Then you have to figure out how to react. We...are simply not that capable in uncontrolled public road conditions.

But if every six years Honda punches out the GL another 200CCs, by 2038 you can expect to see a GL2800 or larger. What HP will it have? Are we going to have 2 alitre bikes. How bout we just hang a jet engine on it like that orange Busa I keep seeing on here? As I've written before, more cars, more drivers, more stop lights, more intersections, and less accountability will only expand. So too will egos get larger, becoming more fragile in the process. You know what those types do with FAST bikes. They attempt to impress...someone. And someone else is watching...waiting for an opportunity to implement a law or two.

But none of this will actually happen. As I have predicted, (and this is by some design on the part of the powerful), we will eventually be surrounded by so many out of control individuals, that they will be the norm. And they will be an excuse to impose control to protect the populace from its very own. MOtorcycles, Long outlawed by the Emperium Clintonium will not exist, but in renegade corners of the untamed Earth, a "shadow" :glare: of what they once were.

Be careful of how much motorcycle you wish for. You may get it.

Going through a tuff spot lately. Need healing and a hobby. Guess what folks, stop me if you've heard this one:

"I'm your number one fan".

The future of Motorcycling is Scooters. Autobox, hybrid, CBS/ABS-equipped, airbagged, silent running scooters. In ten years, you'll just need to worry about which color UJS you'll want. Don't worry about max power and speed.

I guess you've ridden around the LA area. I don't recall it ever being much different to that i.e. out of control individuals being the norm. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I think that they're all out to get me, when I ride my bike.

The reason that you won't see an off-the-shelf 300 mph is because in 2001 the bike makers got together and agreed to self-limit top speeds to (I think) 186 mph.

If future bikes get too fast, you can always add these LED lights as farkles and then no matter how fast you go the light will get there before you.

With all the new technology coming out for the new vehicles on the market, LED lighting is one of the most exciting innovations. Automotive LED light produces more intense light. LED light travels faster and farther then any ordinary automotive light. Consume at least 10 times less power then regular bulbs and have a much longer life spends, which means you can save more money.

It's all about efficiency. There will not be more people killing themselves with the future 300hp/300lb machines than there is now with the 200hp/400lb machines - it will be the same group killing themselves a few seconds more quickly. Quicker is better!

The goverment will step in at some point to halt the performance march or market forces will as more 'potential' riders demand the scooters TWN speaks of and the manufacturers move production away from the bikes we all know and love. The lure of mass profits from the emerging scooterites will be too powerful to ignore.

Enjoy the here and now for we are indeed living in a time of motorcycle nirvana.

They won't be silent-running. See: https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21112810/

First two paragraphs:

BALTIMORE - Gas-electric hybrid vehicles, the status symbol for the environmentally conscientious, are coming under attack from a constituency that doesn't drive — the blind.

Because hybrids make virtually no noise at slower speeds when they run solely on electric power, blind people say they pose a hazard to those who rely on their ears to determine whether it's safe to cross the street or walk through a parking lot.

F*ck that. You can never have too much power. :bb: :bb: :bb:

Legend has it at the press intro of the 427 Cobra Caroll Shelby was asked if he thought the new hot rod had "too much power". He answered "if some is good and more is better than too much auta'be be just right"

DIRT RIDER Magazine featured an electric motocross bike a couple issues ago. All you can hear is the chain slap.

Hey people, give Honzo a break. He does raise some interesting points and, being a student of history, share some of the same concerns about big brother watching over us. I know I don't have the full story here, but I did hear of a guy in the UK that was told that the state sponsored health care system would not repair his broken ankle until he was willing to give up cigarettes.

Could it be possible that a time might come that if you ride "one of those dangerous motocycles" you could be denied medical benefits?

Sorry if I'm getting to political here; just have concerns, like Honzo, over where our society is heading.

I believe that the time has already come. The AMA are fighting health insurance policies that exempt injuries caused while riding a motorcycle, from coverage. For example, say you are commuting to work, geared up, within the speed limit and get hit by a careless driver. The same insurance company would pay out for the driver's injuries but not yours.

Policies such as this don't bode well for the future. Who will be excluded next? In standing up for our rights as motorcyclists, we are defending the rights of other minority groups.

Enough said now. This is getting too close to being a politics thing, which doesn't belong here.

Yeah gunny for sure! go watch some of them You tube vids of dudes doing low alt training in fighter jets and then tell me that the human NS cant function at high speeds. And that is coming from a neruoscientist :)

Now look what I started.

But remember: It is not your fault if you spill scalding coffee in your lap in your car. It is not your fault if you crash a plane in severe icing without a weather report or proper training. It is not your fault if you jump a fence in an attempt to thieve and break your ankle. It is not your fault if you hit gravel in a corner and come to a stop via oak tree or Mac truck. It is not your fault if you eat yourself obese and blow up your heart. It is not your fault that you got pregnant under consentual intercourse. It is not your fault that your children are cruel. Etc, Etc.

"Relax. You Will be protected and you will be happy with it. And remember: 'Salvation through Taxation'."

-A public service commandment from the peoples' USAR (United Socialist American Republics)

AKA Empirium Clintoneum-

Mount guns on your bikes and rip open the throttle. Head east.

Cry:

"Today is a good day to die."

"FFRREEEEEDOOOOOM!"

"You want a ****'n war? I'll give you a ****'n war!"

"On my command, unleash Hell."

"We will kill until no Harkonan breaths Arakine air."

"Lets win this one for the Gipper."

"I just wanted to tell you both, good luck, we're all counting on you."

"You do not talk about Fight Club!"
