Ok, I know to search for this stuff  , but what do you call the attachment you add to the bottom of the sidestand so it does not sink in soft black top? I used them on my GSA and just ordered them from the overpriced site called Touratech. Is it called Fat Foot as well for the FJR? And where might one look for said item. I greatly appreciate all help.

Thanks guys,

Rexford

Man I love this bike....... :yahoo:

Send a PM to 08FJR4ME...I believe that's his screen name.

Dave at WynPro makes a lot of good stuff...and I think that's one of them.

EDIT: Found link

+1 on this nifty little WynPro gadget. Works exactly like it should and very reasonable. I did find a very little grinding helped it sit flat on my somewhat round-bottomed kickstand foot--took literally about 15 seconds with the angle grinder (not every FJR's kickstand needs this treatment--they must vary a little). Put a little Loctite on the screws too.

Do not remove too much or the foot will not tighten on it. Yep, got a little over zealous with the grinder.

+1 on the blue loctite on those screws. A MUST. Just love mine. Everywhere I go, folks have sand driveways around here.

Hey, just a quick aside on the Wynpro (which I have and also like very much so far). I have seen pics of many that folks have painted black but has anyone ever tried a product like the Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black on one?

Aluminum Black

I am thinking about it...

I'm really curious myself. I could use it on my footplate, as well as my "Wild Bill" highway bracket!

I am going to pick some up today and let you all know, in another thread, how that goes.

As a wannabe member of El Club de Los Robustos, I hereby demand that this thread be taken down.

Every time I peruse the forum I do a double take when I misread the title as Fat "Food".

This is terribly unfair to those of us so easily enticed by the idea of food ****.

Please change the title or remove the thread. My keyboard is getting wet from all the drooling. :dribble:

Thankks,

Mark

Final answer FWIW is that this part does not take this product well at all. Splotchy and ugly. And (thankfully) no penetration into the metal at all. Steel wool easily removed all traces so back to stock and back on the bike.
