I've got a PR3 on the back with a PR2 on the front. I like the feel of the PR3 better than the 2. I'll probably try a 3 on the front next. I hate the buzz u you get from the 2 during the 2k to 4k miles part of the tire's life.
In my experience, the PR3 buzzes more than the PR2. YMMV

The PR2s buzzed for me, too. So much I thought I had a bearing issue. My buddy had the same issue on his R1100.
Maybe it has to do with the loaded weight of the bike and rider? I ride mostly with all the bags off and only weigh 180 lbs. I also have springs and suspension work done, so maybe that makes a difference. I would like to see a picture of your front tread when it starts to buzz to see what the issue may be. My old tires wore very smoothly with no cupping. Did your tires cup?

Long story short, perhaps this tire does not work the same for everbody, but I will say, the Bridgestones cupped badly for me and I got head shake from the cupping.

The Bridgestones get the classic "cupping" wear pattern on the front tire. However that doesn't really do very much except wear somewhat unevenly, and even with that uneven wear they last as long as PR2's for me.

The PR2s every one of the diagonal treads develops a mild sawtooth shape. This is most prevalent when the tire is worn about 1/2 way. It's then that you get the buzzy feeling even when riding in a straight line. As the tire continues o wear the sawtooth diminishes. I'm sure that has to do with the tread block flexing and as it gets shorter there is less of that going on.
