I feel like a squid today. Weather was nice, so I took the bike out for a spin. Had some fun....

Then I found out my Big Blue can do power wheelies. *giggle* Or better yet, *I* can do power wheelies with the FJR. *more giggles* I may have found a new hobby.

:hyper: :hyper:

Sometimes it's hard to act like an adult. :D

How did you do the "Power Wheelies"? Just rolling on the throttle? In what gear? Or just shifting hard to 2nd or what?

Waiting minds want to know.

Just pulled away in 1st gear normally and as soon as the rpm went over 5000, gently open the throttle like you're gonna accelerate and up comes the front very smoothly.

Riding in 2nd over 5krpm and quickly going to full throttle will do the trick too.

I did that once by accident. If you don't want it up, you better be sitting on the gas tank.

Just dont' do that going 80+ down the freeway in rush hour traffic... like the kids do here... or i'll have to slap ya upside the head!

But otherwise.... Wheelie On! :D

Oh, that is sweet.

I'll bet an aggresive 1-2 shift would do the same! (At the price of a little clutch fiber.) :D

Don't'ch unnerstan'? Yuh doesn't need no stinkin' clutch, jist be aturnin' on the twisty thang on thuh rite handlebar, en the front wheel starts tuh be alookin' fer the sky.

Reminds me of the man at the circus tent in Sturgis last year. We were standing around looking at the man eating fire and the announcer looked at us and said,

"Just look at ya, you're in here having a good time and now you're gonna go out in tha highway and try some tricks on your motorcycle that you've never tried before".

Bee careful popping them wheels up!

Shaft drive bikes cannot wheelie.
You better put a smiley after that statement cause I hope you don't think THAT true.
Just ask Rad. Shaft drive bikes can't wheelie.
He's right. Or was it stoppie? I can't remember all this shit, the personal hard drive has been outta space for 15 years........ :D

+ 5 or 6 or 7

On my last bike. The front wheel would come up in a heartbeat if you weren't on the tank.

Shaft drive bikes cannot wheelie.
The shaft makes the rear end anti-squat on hard acceleration, but they can still wheelie -- it just takes a bit more to get past that anti-squat on the rear end.

Remember guys, keep the rear brake covered when doing this. If it gets out of hand, just hit that rear brake and it'll bring the front end back to the ground.
