If done properly, Warchild's glue only method will work fine. I did mine that way and its been on for 55,000 miles.

Guess you guys didn't read the link !! :erm: It's about the front FENDER falling off, not the fendaextenda !!

Never seen that before !! He's the first I'll bet !!

MUD Gaurd = Australia

Fender = USA

Guess you didn't read the thread title. Kinda leads one to think that perhaps A ****** EXTENDA HAD SUMPIN TO DO WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. :D
I dunno? I read the title, Front Mudguard (Euro/Aussie for front fender) and the post. His post on Mar 8th is that everything is "All standard up front neat and tidy". From that answer, I'd assume he had no, uhm, "@#*&%!" fenda extenda.

Also, this is the 2nd time he's had the same problem in 28,000kms. I'd more believe something is out of alignment or the forks are not set the same (preload/rebound/compression--causing twisting on the front fender) or someone has overtightened the mounting bolts and crushed or cracked the plastic where the bolts secure it to the forks.

Just my $.02.

Can you say......Blue Locktite! My fender fasteners have come loose before. I solved that with proper torquue and Good 'Ol Blue Locktite.....

Hmmmmmmmm, this is what I see--"> Fender extender, This happen to anyone?"

Must be cuz I uses Mozilla... :D But anyway, if this is fender #2, then something is defintitely screwy with his front end,or his method of assembly.
Mozilla must read things differently. I went to the forum and looked at "Technical Posts". Ethin's "Post Subject" is front mudguard. About the 4th post Bernie asked if he had a fender extender or mudflap as he (Bernie) had that problem once on an FJ1200.

It could be my basic programs read it differently.

Uhhhh..........Mike?

Take a gander at the title of THIS thread, in THIS forum, and perhaps then, old ornery grasshopper, you shall be wise in the ways of fenda extendas. :p

madmike2 had it right...

I think FJrider1 saw the "Front Mud Guard" thread in the other forum and thought perhaps the poster meant "Fenda Extenda" as it might be considered a mud guard. The original thread in the other forum didn't say anything about a fender extender except in Bernie's post.

Sorry, Greg and Radman. I ass-u-me-d that after Highlander's post, everyone did read the link and that is what I was responding to. IMO, at some point, we have to look "through" what newer owners asking to give a better answer, regardless of their "Title of choice".

I've had FendaExtenda on both FJRs, mounted according the Warchild's article. No problem, even though the one on the '04 did not survive the 150 flip-flop down the cliff. Imagine that! :D

FJrider1, if you are still folowing this thread, there have been a few reports of owners who have "lost" their FendaExtenda, so some have also used the stainless steel screws. Those who have posted "losing" their Extenda simply say it was gone, or they saw it in their mirror, but none, that I remember, have reported any dramatic damage to their bikes. As you can read above, SkooterG has 50K on his, I have 30K plus on my combo with no problems.
