Film on the screen?

Has anyone put 3m film or similar type product on their windshield? I'm wondering cuz I have a new cb +3+2 non-flip that's about to be installed. Maybe there's no need to protect the screen from being dinged?

I believe CB's already have a hard coating. No need for 3M film on any windshield, just use a good plastic cleaner like Plexus. If you get scratches, use Novus #2 to remove.
