I just used some of this stuff you recomended in my final drive and took my FJR out for a spin. Now the final drive sounds like an old bicycle chain that is rusted and hasn't been oiled in years. I used a handful of this stuff as you recomended. Do you think our hand sizes may be different and I may have got the proportions wrong??

I use Wal-Marts Supertech Synthetic gear oil mixed with about a handful of this stuff. It keeps everything clean and shiny!

After spending way too much time tracking down a bottle of Mobile 1 75 W 90 gear oil it had a large LS on the label. The old bottles did not, and I wondered what the difference might be. From the Mobile 1 website: "...we have recently changed the label to adequately convey the limited slip feature..." and "We have not made any changes to the formulation." The “limited slip” feature means the oil includes friction modifiers so it works in limited slip differentials. I then wondered how these additives modify” the friction: do they increase or lower it? According to Wiki the additives reduce friction, so I haven't found any reason not to use Mobile 1.

I use Amsoil Full Synthetic Gear Fluid and have been pleased with its performance. The bottle contains enough fluid to accomadate 4 changes. I will probably change it every or every other oil change.

I use Amsoil Severe Gear oil it has the correct specs and being a dealer I get it at wholesale. My balls are still rolling. :excl:
