When I first bought my new 08FJR in May of that year, I loved the sheer elegance of the bike. I didn't want change a thing with the bike.

My trip to Myrtle Beach Bike week in May 2008 quickly showed me that the side cases just weren't up to the capacity I wanted for week long trips. This is especially true if you're leaving from Canada in early May and need warmer clothing in hopes of exchanging for lighter garments in Myrtle. On this same trip, I realized how much I actually used my Vista Cruise on my 98 Virago 1100.

Now it is my third year with the bike and I finally started to add a few farkles.

First was the extremely overpriced OEM trunk. I bought the bike from a dealer in NY state because of the price difference ( almost $3500 CDN saved ). The same holds true for many parts and accessories ( almost $350 CDN saved ). Still way too much money but I really wanted OEM.

Next was the installation of the Vista Cruise. I can't remember whose post I viewed with full illustration of their installation but I did want to say thanks. I followed his instructions and the install was a breeze and I think it turned out looking pretty well.

Lastly, I wanted to get my brake rotor lock out of my glove box and keep it out of my saddle bags. Found another post where someone had machined a small plate to fasten to one of the motor mounts and then secure his lock to that. I used his idea to get that lock out of my glove box once and for all.

Finally.....First Few Frarkles

Hope to add a ram mount with a new GPS for the spring. Considering taller windshield and possibly a new seat.

Not sure how to add pictures yet but if I can figure it out I will

Photobucket automatically adds image tags when you copy the link of the picture page. Just paste the tag into the post and wallah!

Your bike looks great BTW. I was also shocked to see the price on the tailbag. Fortunately, my bike came with one (bought it used)

Ahh the black FJR. Truly a thing of beauty. Might I suggest you look into Rifle windscreens. Very effective wind management. And please, waste no more time pouring hundreds maybe thousands into a depreciating asset for which you will get pennies on the dollar when you ultimately sell it.

lol 2Bull............

Wow Meltdown.......nicely done, thanks for the links. GPS mount was probably going to be next on my list as I am using my Trucks suction mount unit on the tank, love the centre mount on yours.
