I finally picked up my FJR yesterday, a very lightly used 2005 ABS model up near Boston.

Only 2680 miles on the clock, with numerous Farkles, most of which I would have done myself as well!

Have to admit to major paranoia during the truck ride back, imagining each bump and pothole sending the bike crashing over! - had the bike tied down in a 16ft. rental truck - but all arrived home safe and sound!

Hope the weather is a little warmer this weekend! ;)

Now to start with the GPS and Autocom installs...

Up near Boston, huh? What town? Don't see too many around here, now one less. :( Do you know if the seller was active on fjrforum? Reason for selling?

Congrats to you however, Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us.

Hooray!!! You'll be delighted with your bike once you take it out for a ride. Oh, and don’t worry about the silly grin on your face after a ride, it doesn't go away, but there are no secondary effects. :D

Welcome to the wacky world of FJR ownership. You'll know you have it baaaad when you open the kitchen-to-garage door just to look at it and smile.

I still do that, after 3 years, and I don't feel bad about it, either!

LOL I get that grin already when I look at the spot where it will be parked. Can't imagine actually walking out and seeing it there.

Congrats Benny!

Thanks all for the kind words.

It IS cool to walk out to the garage and see the strange new thing under the flannel sheets. :p

The seller had actually posted the bike here, might have been his first or second post. He's more active on the old site, I believe. He has 3 other bikes, including a BMW that usage-wise overlapped with the FJR for him.

Hoping that forecasted rain on Saturday is a typical weatherman's mistake!

Actually hit 50+ today in NYC. Course I had to work instead of ride the new toy. :(

As far as the flannel sheets go, nothing's too good for my new baby! ;)

Actually, I've found this bike to be very water-resistant. It was raining when mine showed up. I knew right away I was going to need some gear. I'm pretty well set up now. I recommend getting set up for wet riding. It really expands your opportunities.

I would think, in NYC (aka NY, NY) they are more concerned with the rain turning white, and the repairs becoming extensive and expensive.

"Modulate your throttle!" Sheah, right! :D

Welcome! Your going to love the torque band. Monsoon Season here. We have got about half of normal 60" rainfall in less than a month. going to have to rig pontoons on the FJR soon.

Good Luck with your weather.

Let me know if you need any help, Benny. My garage is open.

...and heated! ;)

I don't know your exact location in NJ, but I'm right near Giants Stadium.

Congrats Benny! Welcome to the fold.

Man, it would kill me to have that thing sitting in the garage and not be able to ride it. Here's wishing you some riding weather.

I got to go for a ride now. It's sunny and about 70 degrees out right now.

Randy/All,

Thanks! I'm down here in Fair Haven, just 5 min. south of Sandy Hook in Monmouth County. Only about an hour from you, Randy. We'll have to get together when the weather breaks a bit.

Earlier tonight I heard rain changing to snow for Saturday night! :erm:
